I was tired of people parking in the crosswalk, so in working with the City they are going to place a no parking sign. There was no previous mark or sign to let drivers know.

A temp sign is now there until permanent one is installed.

Guess how close you can park to a crosswalk in Calgary?

Honest question, has anyone reposted this one on their community FB group? 🤔

How was it received?
After years of producing content in the digital space I'm starting a Patreon.
It will have both satirical news stories via The Rovélo Record (full stories) and the advocacy content you might expect from Rovélo Creative in this space and of course much more.

"It's a neighbourhood that could use some revitalization, making it a bit more walkable, having more parking," Tran said.

When will Calgary BIA’s realize more parking does not help walkability? It makes it worse.

Talk about sensationalizing things! What the hell is up with this "Safety Alert" from Nextdoor?

Avoid the area as a Safety Alert because of 1 lane closure? Bizarre!
I mean I guess if it prevents traffic congestion then great, thank you Nextdoor.

SAIT has 40,000 students with 22,000 of them in a credit program.
There is a natural path leading from campus to Riley park.

Instead of building proper access there is a sign saying don’t walk here. 🤷‍♂️

It’s insane that people fight against everything that makes a city vibrant—they fight bike lanes, pedestrian infra, housing, street vendors. We could all be living in our own version of paradise, eating well, walking, socializing, living comfortably.

Alberta Separatism: Americans Living in the Wrong Country

"Grievances" with Ottawa don't explain why a quarter of Albertans support secession.

Does that make AB especially vulnerable to political interference by Trump and MAGA?

"The property type that took the biggest hit was high-density homes, said CREB chief economist Ann-Marie Lurie."

I've never heard CREB use the term "high-density" before... are they stirring the pot on blanket rezoning?

Me thinks yes.

It would be awesome if Calgary could implement a docked bike share system. Maybe a free fare zone wouldn’t be needed downtown if people could inexpensively rent a bike. 🤷‍♂️

It's just objectively silly — and, I would argue, very counter-productive — that housing has come to be seen as a *federal* issue.

Provincial and municipal governments increasingly only exist as rumours in Canada.

Brief thread.
My head is going to explode from the sheer civic illiteracy that We The Media have fostered by making everything a federal issue, and being absolutely allergic to holding premiers to account for failures in their jurisdictions.
Well here's your problem.
