Great post. One critical point to me is that people are "not making decisions about COVID mitigation downstream of their ideas about disease severity, they’re developing ideas about disease severity downstream of decisions about mitigation."
Those of us with Long COVID have been grievously harmed by our government’s failure to implement disease control measures. That same government's denial of COVID's dangers has also created massive stigma around our illness, redoubling that harm.

Long COVID stigma adds insult to injury
It's weird having an illness a lot of people simply don't believe in

Hey, as a librarian I need to tell you:

Our funding depends on usage.

So go ahead and check out that book even if you don't think you'll finish it. No one will know. Check out that DVD even though you might not like it. Get ambitious in your quest for knowledge.

I've been working on something! It's not nearly done yet, but I thought no need to gatekeep the work in progress. This is an AI ethics "syllabus" based on a post-hoc curation of hundreds of short form videos I've made for social media, to make the content more accessible. bit.ly/ai-ethics-sy...

do i love hearing about the ACIP dissolution? absolutely not. this is awful. but i am imploring you, reader, to not merely hang wring, but direct people’s energies to what CAN be done to prevent disease even as our government fails: ventilation, filtration, far uv, & MASKS. we are not without tools.
BEGGING every pundit & publication concerned about lack of ongoing access to covid vaccines to be clear that there are other tools we can use to prevent infection: ventilation, far uv, & filtration with purifiers & masks can make an impact *if you use them*— help others access these tools for free👇🏻

And since everyone suddenly starts being deliberately obtuse about masking whenever I bring it up, let me explain how it ACTUALLY works again.

By wearing a mask, you keep your rona laden spittle from being launched into the air with every exhale and word sung/spoken. If almost everyone wears a +
food after another to new aIIcrgies. You do not want to have trouble brcathing and issues with your hcart. You do not want to find out all of the long term dcmcge another run-in with the rona will leave you with. Wear a mask!!!
