When I was investigating CRCL with records obtained by @pogo.org, we found many cases of ICE is misgendering people and threatening to take away their gender affirming medication without justification.

Metry and her husband of 4 years go to DHS to get their I-130 in motion. "Good news" a DHS employee told them, the form to start her naturalization was approved.

DHS employee asks the husband to follow him through a secure door. When it locks behind him, ICE detains his wife to deport her.
EXCLUSIVE: Terez Metry was 13 when her family fled to Tennessee from Egypt in 2011. Then, they left her behind. She only recently discovered she had an order of removal from 2011. But she was following the legal path to citizenship. On Monday, at a routine DHS meeting, Metry was detained.

Growing up, people I knew had “the box” which would get you cable for free. LNow the same dynamics are back in vogue because of how awful streaming services are.

Anyways, there is no such thing as intellectual property. www.theverge.com/streaming/87...

DHS has been doing this for a long time—nearly since its inception. The reality is that much of their “intelligence” is literally just forwarded emails with the subject line line: “FW FW FW FW the daily mail EXPOSES antifa HQ”

This is not an exaggeration.
🚨 Documents leaked to me reveal a federal watchlist of American protesters suspected of being Antifa - including its supposed leader.

One Department of Homeland Security document says a 29-year-old resident of Portland "is the leader of Antifa":

The list they're creating says so, anyway

A few things worth remembering: the creating of DHS was actually quite controversial! People warned that this kind of department would end up murdering us in the street, assaulting detainees and shipping migrants off to secret torture prisons.

Those people were dismissed as alarmists.

DHS has and always will be filled with a million Little Eichmanns. That’s where you find Bovino, Tom Homan (who famously came up under Obama), Mayorkas, etc. The whole organization is rotten.

Democrats only care about losing access to Congress because they want inside information on stock trades. They really don’t care about being on the right side of history and probably agree with all of the ICE abuses.

A thing to keep in mind about capabilities ascribed to ICE is that state actors do have a lot of ways to go after people if they want to, and if they want to track and target you specifically, they can.

The number one bit of security advice I would give activists/immigrants rn is to back up all your shit and make sure someone has access to your important records. (And dress warm)
We've heard a number of reports now of DHS agents at Whipple confiscating arrestees' phones and refusing to return them. Talked with a guy several nights ago who said they wouldn't give his back, and there were more reports of it last night. Just something to keep in mind/be aware of.

The actually practical advice is don’t say anything to 1000 strangers you wouldn’t say in public
