I can confirm that AI Ben Garrison is incredible ;) Ben, you can retire.

(Gemini 3 Pro prompt: "Create a comic in the style of Ben Garrison that parodies the viewpoints of Ben Garrison. Pick a particular topic and take it to humorous extremes")

styled-components maintenance mode doesn't have to mean panic mode.

Our engineer @codey.bsky.social made performant community forks. Linear's already seeing 40% faster renders with zero code changes.

Not a permanent fix, but it buys you time to migrate properly.

styled-components maintenance mode: A 40% faster fork | Sanity
After styled-components entered maintenance mode, we forked it with React 18's useInsertionEffect. Result: 40% faster renders for Linear. Open source solution.

Unless you are willing to remain in unending, perpetual conflict with virtually the entire social structure of the platform, staying on Twitter WILL POISON YOUR THINKING WITH BIGOTRY AND NATIVISM. It will creep in. You will start thinking in their terms because the only alternative is constant war.

This is very good. If you have the time, be sure to submit some actual feedback to counter the vocal minority trying to enable platform manipulation by scammers.

From a report today on @npr.org: People held at Alligator Auschwitz have no legal path out. ICE says they're held on state charges, so Federal immigration judges can't hear cases for bond or anything else. The state hasn't charged them, so state judges can't hear the case because there's no case. 1/

It very literally does not make any sense to be mad at the single-digit team of people who run Itch over this. They would very much like to be able to let people sell transgressive smut, as evidenced by the fact that they allowed people to sell transgressive smut until fascists tattled to Mastercard

my synthesis for this for a while is that we’re seeing what happens when everyone at every level of society experiences the same internet brain rot; it’s basically that old Warhol quote about how you and the homeless guy down the street and the President all drink the same Coca-Cola
The real counter to "people are too stupid for democracy" is that the elites are by all appearances even stupider. The average person falls for TikTok cheapfakes meanwhile the average elite thinks transgender sports are a tractable policy-based concern and that AI will replace all jobs in 2 years

I do not see why payment processors are still doing business with X. These are not isolated incidents and this is not even a user content issue (though it also is that) — the owner of the platform is changing one of its features explicitly to promote white nationalism. How is this not brand risk??!

Tragic. Last year’s “gameplay” video was a Deus Ex successor too good to be true — and turns out it was.
I can confirm that Xbox is canceling the long-troubled project Perfect Dark and closing The Initiative, per email from Xbox studios president Matt Booty seen by Bloomberg News. First reported by Windows Central

NEW: The death shadow cast by Musk.

“When U.S.-supported soup kitchens were forced to close, babies starved quietly, their mothers said, while older siblings died begging for food.”

The world’s richest man did this to the world’s poorest children.

Don’t ever forget.
In Sudan, where children clung to life, doctors say USAID cuts have been fatal
The Trump administration’s cuts to USAID had an immediate and deadly impact in war-ravaged Sudan, according to civilians, doctors and aid officials.

Imagine how much better Mamdani would have done if he didn’t literally campaign on “I will make this city worse”. Insane that the Dems haven’t found anyone reasonable after Adams crashed out and just let him build momentum into this — and now will pay the price nationally for his bullshit.

What in the fresh hell is this. Did someone responsible for the abomination that is Windows 11 UX bite the entire Apple design team? Did they poach whoever at Google made nigh-identical icons for every product?
The point of iconography and UI is to be distinct — this adds cognitive load to each tap.
