Opinion | Government workers need to be more productive on the job. They can start by writing weekly emails detailing their progress to a drug-addled edgelord who will receive them while playing Diablo 4 with teenagers.

What happens if we stop all clinical trials & funding basic science research? People die.

What happens if we send kids “back” to countries they’ve never lived in? People die.

What happens if we treat trans people the way Nazis treated Jews? People die.

Etc. etc.

The most important fact—that this would be a patently unconstitutional executive order—is omitted from the social copy.
Breaking news: The U.S. government will no longer recognize the citizenship of children born in the United States to immigrants who lack legal status, one of 10 immigration-related executive orders President-elect Donald Trump plans to sign Monday, an incoming administration official told reporters.
Trump executive order will attempt to end birthright citizenship
The incoming president plans to take at least 10 actions related to the border or immigration, including ramping up deportations and suspending refugee resettlement.

"If President-elect Donald Trump follows through on his vow to impose stiff tariffs and deport undocumented workers, rebuilding could become even more fraught. Undocumented workers comprise an estimated 13% of the construction industry,"
Rarely have so many cities ruined by natural disasters attempted to rebuild around the same time. Hurricane reconstruction efforts are under way in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee. Soon, Los Angeles County will be starting to rebuild.

I will never stop being mad about how the media has treated the anti-trans movement as a group of ordinary people with legitimate concerns rather than the obvious frothing bigots they are.
ABC White House correspondent just released ANOTHER anti-trans EO expected that we did not cover in our piece this morning:

A federal ban on funding to programs that acknowledge and affirm transgender people.

In a society that rejects any belief in the common good It's easier to destroy solidarity than to build it. If I had to define "Trumpism," it's the belief that your own worth as a person is enriched by other people's suffering.
The problem is that someone doesn't need to put in any work to come up with 'anti-trans talking points.' It's just a bunch of harmful stereotypes.

Privileged people generally experience the system as biased against and as singling them out for abuse, because they cannot imagine that’s just how the system treats people.
From what I understand from listening to @kenwhite.bsky.social Weinstein isn't getting any special treatment, and this is how it is for everyone at Rikers, but no, he thinks he's being picked on.
Lawyers say they suspect Harvey Weinstein has been deliberately mistreated in prison
According to Weinstein’s legal team, the disgraced movie producer has faced egregious conditions while jailed

Anytime you feel imposter syndrome creeping in at your job, just remember that Brett Kavanaugh, one of the most replacement-level Guys our society has ever elevated to a position of power, is an honest-to-God Supreme Court justice
There is a stance I will call "Kavanaugh neutrality" that says the Constitution is "neutral" between vulnerable people and the power of the state and so we will watch and shrug while the vulnerable are beaten up in our presence. #Skrmetti

Claudine Gay was deemed Not Accomplished Enough to run Harvard, but all the failsons, creeps and psychos with no experience or expertise will get to be Cabinet officials
So to summarize, according to #maga, any Black, gay or trans person who achieves any position, no matter how degreed or credentialed they are is an unqualified #dei hire. And any white person, however unqualified or even sketchy is inherently qualified when they get a job. Do I have that right?

Worth noting the EPA's brief correctly uses "nitrogen oxide" 7 times, and the EPA submitted a declaration from an official who used it twice.

But nobody involved in the majority opinion, Justices and clerks, bothered to take the EPA's brief seriously, and so none of them noticed the error.
Still marveling at Gorsuch's Ohio v. EPA opinion, in which he confused nitrogen oxide (a pollutant) with nitrous oxide (laughing gas). He did this five times, never once getting it right—in an opinion overruling the EPA's own expert scientific analysis! s3.documentcloud.org/documents/24...
