i was rewatching the JJBA OPs just now and it reminded me of araki writing this. even though JJBA is totally absurd, i feel araki has the uncanny ability to connect with so many—even someone like me who doesn't normally connect with the shonen genre—because he treasures his creations so personally

I have days where I wonder why I even bother engaging in discourse to defend PF2e.

It gets exhausting. There's uniquely too many intersections of RPG players it pisses off and any attempt at explaining misconceptions or rebutting personal taste gets you accused of being an annoying shill.

Screenshot from a Tumblr post by ralfmaximus: Mozilla, in its finite wisdom, embedded LLM bots into recent versions of Firefox for the vitally-important purpose of… naming tab groups. Now, some users are noticing CPU and power usage spikes caused by a background process called Inference. Ugh. Reminder again for Firefox users to visit your about:config page, search for the browser.ml.chat.enabled key, and set that to false: If yours says true then double-click it until it reads false. Doing that turns off the AI chatbot features in Firefox, but also the stupid new LLM tab-naming feature that's rolling out

I saw an infographic a couple years ago about how to remove source identifiers from links and why it's important, but I can't find it again and too many people I know are sending me links with them so here's an infographic straight from the oven
Header text: "HEY YOU! YES YOU! TAKE THIS SHIT OUT OF LINKS!" This is followed by a couple example urls, with a red square highlighting the sections with source identifiers. The rest of the text is as follows: Source identifiers are used to track your activity on a site. Where you came from, what device you use, and even who you talk to. Whether it's written clearly in the url or tied to a random string of characters, it's assigned to your activity. When you send a link containing a source identifier to somebody and they click it, it signals to the website that you two are connected. And that data goes right back to the website operators, and thus their advertisers. Whenever you select "share" or "copy link" on a social app or website, it creates a link like this. If you give even the smallest shit about online privacy, it's important to remove them. Everything after the "?" symbol can be removed without issue, especially sections starting with "si=" or "utm_source="

Is it patronising AF that every time someone writes of buff and debuff spells or options as 'chaff' and goes 'why would I ever use this over just attacking,' I just think 'I don't know genius, why WOULD you ever buff or debuff over just attacking? Surely there's no logical reason you can think of.'

@sophiekay.bsky.social Your mention of an abandoned bowling alley as a base on the OSPod now has me wanting to do that in Cyberpunk Red. Maybe as a Maelstrom or 6th Street base the players have to klep a data drive or piece of cyberware from.

And yes, 2077 did burn the slang into my brain. :D
