True motion, motion smoothing and everything that does the same thing should be a crime. And it's also hidden deep in the menu, there's no quick opt-off, and I convinced myself that HBO for some reason recorded the new last of us episode in 100fps, rather than the tv update turning this shit back

I imagine the ad that assumes that you have never been to a restaurant was the winner of even worse ideas
The most baffling commercial I have ever seen in my life. What does this mean? How is this a problem anyone has, ever? What does your product even do?????

David Lynch gave us the language we needed to better articulate the indescribable strangeness of our shared reality. “Lynchian” is so overused because it’s a viscerally understandable word without any known synonyms. I can’t imagine a more beautiful artistic legacy than that.

Meta's policy is that group-based harassment is generally bad and forbidden *except for this one particular group*
Meta literally created a LGBTQ exception for calling someone mentally ill as an insult. You can't do it for any other group except LGBTQ people.

This deep dive on Netflix purposely turning movies into barely distinguishable forgettable slop is so insightful, researched & brutally hilarious. A must read if you want to really know what’s happening to the business AND culture of movies.
Casual Viewing | Will Tavlin
A decade before Airbnb persuaded homeowners to transform their homes into hotels, Netflix convinced its users to turn theirs into mini Netflix warehouses. Customers who held onto their DVDs for longer...

Great British Bakeoff, but one of the contestants can't cook, and they are actually controlled by a rat. The rat gets a handshake from Paul at the end of the season.

Started to feed the local crows and magpies, and it's so cool when the nuts are gone. However, I'm also guilty of bothering Dorina with my worries when they are not gone for days 🫣

People can make as many screen time limiter apps they want, nothing will be as effective as solutions inside the apps themselves. Like the unskippable video ads the hard working people introduced on Facebook. Good feature to make your users close the app instantly, I hope someone gets a raise for it

Spotify is always like "we celebrate the work of women creators around the world" and then the first 4 lists they recommend under it include mainly male creators I don't listen to. Very smart algorithm

HBO waiting until they saw the culture had shifted to more overt transphobia to overtly stand behind JK Rowling AND doing it on Trans Day of Remembrance showcases how cruel and cowardly they are.

I love the Spotify AI DJ that adds new stuff to my queue, like a song from Sabeina Carpenter, or maybe something different like a single from Sabrina Carpenter.

Le maybe it'll spices it up with a fun tuna by Sabrina Carpenter! You never know what it'll suggest next!

We're about a decade in to this weird narrative where apparently centrists will always be driven right by us on the left but are somehow magically never driven left by the far-right.
