An hour after I arrive in Sapporo, snow starts to fall. The last time I saw snow fall was when I visited Sweden in 1999. I'm so happy.

My wall of out-of-context quotes from my Vampire the Masquerade and board gaming group keeps growing.

Adding a NSFW tag because one or two are a bit saucy.

Naughty noughties throwback Tuesday outfit for housework today.

Never learned how to take a good selfie, but that's hardly the point.

The beginning of Shaun of the Dead opens with a set of gags (that last about 5 minutes) based off this expression. Absolute donkeys, the lot of 'em.

Also everything they are writing about Gen Z wanting work life balance and promotions is identical to what was written about millennials last decade.
there are jokes in tv/film about this reaction going back like 40+ years, i really hope that one day we move beyond the juvenile impulse to pin our latest round of complaints around social phenomena onto whichever generation happens to be the youngest in the general workforce
I think the "Gen Z" stare may be real, and because young ppl aren't socialized enough. But also... most examples were of customer service situations, and if you're getting blank stares in that situation, maybe take a long look in the mirror www.businessinsider.com/gen-z-stare-...

"Man who sells you horseshoes has described horses as essential infrastructure in todays world."

News story credulously quotes those who directly profit from the technology or system in place. without any form of investigation or 'he profits from it, so he would say that' disclaimer.
Nvidia's CEO described AI as essential infrastructure in today’s world, comparable to electricity in its importance.

Went to see Jurassic World Rebirth last night. Very little in the film makes sense, go with friends and enjoy tearing shreds out of it.

Headcanon: the 'genetic hybrid' dinosaur was bred to hunt the wealthy. Outside of the intro, the only thing it attacks are a rich guy and a helicopter.

Writing a six page in-universe cultural study on the Tabaxi as I've established them within my friend's homebrew #D&D world may not be the geekiest thing I have ever done...

But if it isn't, it's almost certainly in the top 20. If anyone wants to read it, let me know.

I am willing to compromise on this point and will grant exceptions for foot and bike races in exchange for mandatory voting.

I will even go as far as exempting car and horse races if voting day is made a paid public holiday.
We should have national ranked choice voting in every race.

Thought for the 40k TV series. If there's an Imperial Guard squad, have a character called something like 'Rookie'.
Rookie is treated as the same character every episode. Every week, they are played by a different actor, and every week the new Rookie dies.

It is so coarse, and rough, and harsh of grain.
It finds its way to every crevice near,
And clingeth fast unto the skin, unbid.

Millions of people across Southern California learned about a 5.2-magnitude earthquake that hit San Diego County on Monday not from their windows rattling or their picture frames clattering, but from a noisy alert on their mobile phones seconds before the shaking started.

Not to be that person, but this fantastic joke tweet actually hits upon a very important concept: when people lack control in their own lives, they will often look for strangers to exert control over. Or attempt to. The next time you have an annoying commentor, try to remember that. They’re unhappy.

I weaponized this idea at one point so I didn't commit suicide.
I decided that if I was going to do it, first I'd write letters to everyone I ever cared about wishing them well.

This meant I had hundreds of pages to write...

...and having turned it into a chore, my ADHD ass recoiled from it.
