I'll see you all in the new year! Thank you for celebrating, encouraging, witnessing, and being there for me this year. I'm ending this year full of gratitude and lots of lessons learned. May 2026 be kind and abundant to all of us. ❄️

Several people warmly wished me a "merry christmas!" or "happy holidays!" today over the phone or in person, idk that's kinda nice 🥰

I cried two more times today, even though I had a talk with myself before each interaction to *not* to. Sorry, poor YMCA lady & new ortho doc. 😭

#3GoodThings: I found a new PCP (my lovely former one is having a baby and retiring.) My park walk refreshed me. I'm recalibrating after a rough few days.

"One of the unfortunate ironies of being an over-talker is that you seldom attain the thing you’re really after—connection." I post often here & used to chatter with family. But in real life, I've always struggled with over-talkers. It's hard to speak up. www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/pass...
The Key to Handling Over-Talkers: Speak Up Rather Than Avoid
Personal Perspective: Most of us know how it feels to be on the receiving end of someone over-talking. Here are some tactics for taking care of yourself in these situations.

You know those fancy, futuristic baby rockers that gently but unendingly move side to side and up and down? I need one of those for me

#3GoodThings because I lost count of how many times I cried over the weekend for varied reasons:

- solved two very complicated tech issues for lovely senior lady today, and she was so happy
- I will be able to make rent, and considering everything, that's a feat
- I’m fed, warm & at peace right now

“Just relax, it’s the holidays” isn’t helpful when routines disappear and demands increase. Supporting autistic people means respecting our needs, not minimizing them

Happy Solstice! Not a fan of the dark, so always happy to reach the point where days start getting longer. Spring is just around the corner for those of us in the Northern hemisphere, so here's a happy chickadee for today's #ArtAdventCalendar

Total cost about $19.
Eight hearty servings!
Roughly $2.40 per meal.

Oh, and it’s incredibly delicious. 😋

“Research shows that designing, scheduling and engaging in enjoyable activities is effective at lowering symptoms of depression and anxiety.”

I’ve seen the truth of this myself this year! Since 2018, my prescriber always asks me each time we meet, “what do you have to look forward to?”
Walking in nature reduces activity in the brain region linked to sadness and rumination.

The forecast was correct on both accounts! There’s nothing quite as invigorating as standing outside amongst the trees and letting the wind whip your hair around your face. And also, the stargazing is beautiful tonight! It was breathtaking, actually. My phone camera tried, but my memory is better.
