Another fantastic day hanging out with and helping the wonderful senior lady. We discovered that we both also love Romanian food! Me because I visited in my teens for three weeks, and her because she had a Român grandmother. We’re hatching plans to cook stuffed cabbage rolls & freeze them for her.

I wrote my article within 90 minutes today. That’s a new record! I’ll sleep on it and give it a once over tomorrow morning before I hit submit, but it’s 98% done.

The weather has been so beautiful today, but my back is hurting very badly after cleaning yesterday & weeding this morning. So, I rest.

Slept like a rock & feel refreshed. I received a work opportunity email yesterday that confounded me but after sleeping on it, I have an excellent reply, so I’m glad I waited. Today will be laundry & working on my article due tomorrow evening. Mother Nature is already decorating for the holidays! 🎋

Had a really nice day. I enjoy spending time with this senior lady, she is such a cool cat. I’ve never been around an 80-year-old who makes me feel younger, more curious, and more optimistic about life! My favorite part of my visits is when we go for a slow walk at the end & chat about life.

#3GoodThings in spite of (and because it was) a really cruddy day:

- being (virtually) held & encouraged as I cried through my session by my angel of a therapist
- my land folks invited me to Thanksgiving! A family of 23 people plus me oh boy lol
- Thankful past me made & froze such delicious soups

Just 1 job now, but that’s better than none, by far. Losing the thrift store job bc I physically can’t do it (7 yrs since I worked outside the home) led to all day crying, then migraine + food poisoning like symptoms. Can’t remember the last time I was so sick I had to crawl into bed. But, onwards.

Even MORE to add to this wild story: just days after I visited, a ceiling collapsed within the mall and that’s why they condemned it! But apparently the Rural King and the dialysis center are going to stay open because they’re protected by firewalls?? Just unbelievable… 😳
Oh gosh...I just learned that this mall has been condemned since I visited it. 🪦
I went to my local mall for the first time since the pandemic and oof…Decrepit, unsettling, and largely abandoned. Sad, but I will not be going back, most likely. Definitely got hit hard with the passage of time as I was leaving, because I remember it well in its heyday.

I gave up drinking years ago and sometimes I miss having a fancy little cocktail for the fun flavors. Well, I tried this the other day and it was delicious! It also has one of my favorite herbs in it, lemon balm, and was a very relaxing, tasty drink overall. Highly recommend. ☁️ ✨

On this #TransDayofRemembrance, as we think of all those who have suffered and died needlessly because of the bigotry of a minority...

...it's a great time to think about how you can protect trans folks by speaking up and taking action in your community.

Look at the charming little scene I woke up to. Things are a bit chaotic over here! One opportunity = no-go, an interview went well, thrift store day 1 has been switched to tomorrow, I have to shop for pants & long sleeve for that shift, and tomorrow is: my first shift, then hair appt, then therapy.

Can’t explain it, but there are now 4 potential (current/possible) employment opportunities on my plate right now! I’m very overwhelmed. The good news is I had a blast cleaning at the senior lady’s house. 😌 But my new thrift store manager was annoyed I couldn’t get paperwork done while doing so? 🤨

I'm dreaming again. For context, I've been a life-long vivid dreamer, but the last 1-3 years, they just stopped. If I had dreams at all, they were actual nightmares.

But now I'm having long, wacky, wild, creative, and comforting dreams again. And sleeping well, to boot.

I could get used to this.
I… I also seem to have less pain overall? I was able to get down and up from the floor today without pain when I needed to. And I also had a very solid nap and cathartic cry, both of which I haven’t been able to do in a very long time.

I think my body is finally getting the memo, “we’re safe now.“
Can’t seem to get warm enough! I thought it was just going from unseasonably warm to 27°F this morning. But no, turns out it’s also physiological. After getting a job yesterday, my nervous system has finally gone full parasympathetic, with a resulting dip in circulation and body temp. Interesting. 😯

Such a cool moment today! I pitched my editor, he forwarded it to another, who sent it to the senior editorial director. She said ‘we saw the report, no thanks.’ I said respectfully, here’s an active subreddit thread from 16 hours ago and a Google trend report for the last 7 days. Boom, assigned. ✅
