This isn’t been on my to-do list for a while, and it was not easy to get the seaweed to cooperate in my tiny food processor, but I present to you homemade nori komi furikake! It’s very simple; just roasted seaweed, sugar, sesame, seeds, and salt. I love this seasoning. Put it on all sorts of stuff.

Did you know nutmeg is loaded with antioxidants and minerals like manganese and copper that can support digestion, relaxation, and reducing inflammation? I sprinkled a tiny bit in my coffee today and it’s so tasty, warming, and cozy I’ll definitely be doing this again. ☕️

A magical sight this morning: whitetail deer grazing in the farmer’s field! Two bucks and a doe. After the bucks left, the doe and I stood and looked at each other for a long while. Such lovely creatures. 🦌

Project of the day! I thrifted these white metal shelves for $4 and knew they would be perfect for the this wall. I also decluttered everything and filled half of my car with donation items. I can now more easily do laundry in this tiny room! 🧺

Next up: decluttering the craft supplies & loft. 📦

Good morning! 🎶 🌞

Upsetting dream again, but some honest & compassionate video journaling took care of that. I darted outside to let out the chickens, harvest some marigold seeds & calendula flowers, and now it’s time for reading on my sun-soaked deck. Very grateful for all that I am & have.

I spoke a bit too soon! She is perturbed, patrolling back-and-forth between them like a little mall cop. 😅

However, she will settle in eventually, because you can only poke at what is (essentially) a moving rock so much before you get bored.

After one hour of acclamation (30 mins floating in the bag, 30 mins tank water incrementally added) the pumpkin nerite snails are in their new tank and already crawling around! And they’re so unobtrusive and crawling so slowly that Miss Moon seems not to have even noticed them? Amazing! Perfect.👌

Yes! Bella is the tan and gray one, Twiggy is the white one. They are so cute! Thank you, Meg. I love my backyard too. 🥰

Good morning! A huge barometric pressure jump (.32 Hg) at 5am caused a wild dream that woke me up, but I got back to sleep and now it’s 44°F, cool and very fresh out, so I’m having coffee, reading & planning on my deck. The chickens are exploring & Bella came to visit me on her morning potty run.

I’m having fun. 🥹

Difficult to explain exactly how much this little house means to me. And a very old one at that (like the ones I’ve pinned to my wish list.) I spent a good portion of my childhood with my head stuck in a dollhouse! This is very precious, and a chance to make newer mini memories. 🪑

I’m on a budget, but I miss my childhood dollhouse. So when I saw this pop up on FB marketplace for $25, I drove to get it. The couple didn’t know what they had. This is a handmade 75–90 years old dollhouse made between 1935 and 1950, created between FDR and Eisenhower‘s presidencies. Happy tears.

Incredibly creepy delivery confirmation photo brought to you by the fact that the delivery driver had a flashlight and our big motion sensor light is out lol 💀

Here’s what I mean about the birds! This is the catbird that dances on the unit and tries to get in the window every morning, but there are also little sparrows, wrens, as well as cardinals & the like that sit in the rhododendron & have been interested in seed that I’ve sprinkled out there before.

#3GoodThings

1. Finally put up a birdfeeder for the songbirds that dance on the old AC unit in the mornings. 🐦
2. These high-quality skin care products are only $1.25 each at Dollar Tree & work very well. 🧴
3. Collecting things for a tiny Thanksgiving dinner. Already have potatoes, greens & tofu. 🍽️

I harvested the rest of my mustard greens and turn them into portions of the southern-style stewed side dish I’ve been cooking since I was a teenager. With brown sugar & apple cider vinegar, yum. Three hours in the kitchen later, very pleased with the result! 6 cups of food for the freezer. 🥬 🌱 🥄

Oh no! I’ve definitely been in the grips of a irrational terror before a thing, what’s worrying you? Ignore if jot helpful but: something that works for me is “fear setting” and also just somatic stuff (shaking, bouncing, rocking it out.)

Good morning! I’m glad I slept well last night. Not much on the menu today except I might go for a little walk in the park, make soup, and read. The chickens popped out of their coop all hungry this morning, ate some scratch, then the freezing wind picked up, and they promptly filed back inside. 😆

The beets have slipped out of their jackets, been sliced, and are currently flash freezing. I’m also dyeing a bit of cotton lace trim, because that color is just too pretty to waste! 🫜 ✨

I keep thinking I’m out of the woods with this cold, but I guess I’m not. So did I take my pain meds and then head out into the garden cause I can’t stand to sit in my chair anymore? Why, yes, yes I did. 🥲Harvested the rest of the beets. They’re roasting covered at 400°F with a little bit of water.

Mornin’…I was woken up at 2 am by critters dancing in the ceiling above my bed. 🫩 Was able to get back to sleep, but I am achy, groggy, and low-spoons already. A neighbor had this for free, so I drove over the line to get it. They don’t make them sturdy like this anymore. Been looking for months! 🙌
