It really takes a lot for me to say this, but the Graham tweet is genuinely a pretty offensive thing to say.
Despite seeing several people I totally trust say this was real I still felt I had to verify it with my own eyes. And having done so I still can't believe it's real.

Cool read, super relevant for us
My thoughts on Bluesky verification as someone who was deeply involved in an analogous scheme (selecting trusted root CAs for browsers) at Mozilla many years ago. The analogy is not exact: not trusting a verifier just means no checkmark, while not trusting a root CA means nasty security warnings 1/

You can get hard, concrete proof that parliamentary systems are superior because the Trump Crash and the Truss budget crisis were basically the same and one resulted in the head of state serving for less than four weeks and the other being irrevocably in charge for four entire years

Pirmo veloceļu posmu būvniecība jau notiek dzelzceļa mobilitātes punktu ietvaros, pavasarī tiks uzsākta savienojošo posmu projektēšana.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

we're going to be calling it the Great Leap Forward and it's going to be tremendous. we're going to purge the intellectuals, who have been very nasty to me, and we're going to form the communes, and we're going to have all the manufacturing. all the manufacturing. production quotas,

Keynesianism is like Ozempic in that it's something that works but makes people mad because they want moral hazard to be involved
There’s a certain kind of person who thinks Keynesian stimulus is “putting off” a necessary correction and I’m always amazed how many of them there are.
What if MAGA did the Great Leap Forward?

🚌❤️🌚Rīgā vajadzētu atjaunot nakts transportu un tik milzīga pretestība jau trīs gadus tam nav pamatota.

Pagājušajā gadā divās nedēļās mēs, Progresīvie, savācām 1800+ parakstu par to. Iedzīvotāji prasa!

🌚Nakts transportam nākamā Rīgas domes sasaukumā būt!

Elon's involvement in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race cost his candidate around 5% of the vote--even though he spent $25 million dollars on his behalf.

Elon's endorsee ran 5 points behind the other statewide Republican candidate. That's an unbelievably negative return on investment.

Honestly though, "no reason" is more compelling than the elaborate justifications his supporters are coming up with on the fly
I don’t think the president should cause a recession for no reason.

Did you know that all the generators on the power grid are spinning in sync with each other? The grid has a heartbeat and each and every machine connected to it must follow the rhythm.

This includes the machines in your home! Your buzzing fridge compressor is beating in time with the same heart.

There's no reason to beat around the bush on this: Trump's Ukraine plan is literally just to make Ukraine an American colony. He's trying to divide up the country with Russia like Germany did with Poland.

NATO leaders now speak Gaullism with an accent. Atlanticism is their first language. I do not think that will be the case 15-20 years from now.
