If you had any doubt before about the necessity of public protest to oppose this lawless regime, I hope you now understand that if a US senator is not safe, none of us are safe--and we must join together in the millions in response to these criminals.
Senator Alex Padilla of California was removed by force from Kristi Noem’s presser and handcuffed for his free speech. This is what a fascist regime does that rejects the laws of the US. It should horrify every American. Let’s stop pretending we are approaching authoritarian rule. We are there.

A US Senator was thrown to the ground and handcuffed by federal agents, and then the DHS Secretary went on to say that they are taking control from the "socialist" local government. That is fascist, there is no other proper word for it than that. No euphemisms are necessary or warranted.

I believe this is correct. And you as a user have the option to control your feed as to whether you see reposts, replies, etc. And I find especially using “hide post for me” as a way to address when everyone is sharing the same post and I’m tired of seeing it.
My one constructive criticism on BlueSky, as a community: we need to “like” less and “retweet” more. In the absence of an algorithm, that’s the way we find each other and reward good content.
