And the Universal Credit bill has passed. Some of the sickest people in the country will suffer needlessly more now. There is no justification, no excuse. Just ugly, cruel choices by ministers too cowardly to tax the wealthy rather than cut the poor. A shameful day for Starmer’s Labour.

Ok I am quoted in this article so take my general praise with a pinch of salt, BUT! I have specific praise for how they specifically point out that there isn't a binary definition of sex, that medical transition changes sex and that none of this bullshit helps any women at all! MORE OF THIS

The ‘hard left’ want society to be kinder and take care of everyone in society.

Gosh so radical. So extreme.

To be honest I worry about anyone who doesn’t class themselves in that category.

Today women MPs wore Suffragette sashes to celebrate Votes for Women–won by civil disobedience & celebrated in Parliament's gift shop.

And yet now the government is asking us to vote to proscribe Palestine Action–a modern civil disobedience group–as terrorists

After around just 90 minutes of debate, the UK Parliament has voted to take the unprecedented step of proscribing Palestine Action, an anti-genocide protest group, as a terrorist organisation.

That is a stain that will never wash off the Labour party.

Just so everyone is on the same page: PIP is a top up benefit.

You can’t live on PIP, it’s there because being disabled is more expensive than not being disabled. PIP recipients *in work* may only be able to work because of PIP.

This government is just unnecessarily cruel.
The government argues its PIP cuts won't hit as many people as feared because applicants will appeal against rejections

But DWP figures show a ten-month average wait for appeals. And that's before demand rises with the cuts

By me, for Big Issue:
www.bigissue.com/news/social-...
Majority of PIP claimants with heart disease, arthritis and Crohn's at risk of cuts
DWP data obtained by Big Issue shows that the majority of people with heart failure, HIV and arthritis are at risk of losing their benefits.

Remember that Wi Spa fiasco a few years ago? The trans person at the center of it was found not guilty on all counts last month. Everyone seems to have forgotten all about it. For years, along with Karen White, that was the number one argument for preventing British trans people getting a GRC easier

I've signed a reasoned amendment, backed by 138 disabled people's organisations, to reject disability benefit cuts.

By failing to consult, the government excluded the voices of disabled people.

When organisations representing disabled people are speaking out, we must listen.

No amount of “concessions” on disability benefit cuts will make them more “palatable” to those who will still suffer as a result.

Balancing the books on the backs of disabled people is always inhumane and unjust. It costs lives.

MPs can't be expected to sit by and allow this to happen.

By shifting to the right on disability support cuts, anti trans, anti-immigration policies, Labour doesn't draw those who support such policies away from Reform, they provide free advertising for Reform's arguments, while losing those who disagree with such hostile policies. 4/

'trans ppl must listen to alternate viewpoints'

1: there are no alternate viewpoints. there's those of us who believe in science and then there's a bunch of bigots taken in by a well funded christian campaign of hatred.

2: all the news ever presents is the bigot's side. it's impossible to avoid.
