The British press poses a genuine and profound threat to our democracy and our shared prosperity. They howl out their right wing, wealth-protecting agenda and want Farage as PM. We will all pay a very high price for their selfish greed and their utter indifference to social inequality.

I imagine Farage at school when he wasn’t racially abusing classmates, and going “sssss” mimicking a gas chamber to Jews..

Played the victim &’ran to the Headmaster demanding the cane for those who upset him

Nowadays, he ruthlessly pursues publicity but screams foul when he gets some he dislikes❗️

Around 26,000 of the neediest people in County Durham will have to start paying council tax next year...

About 2,400 others who already pay some council tax will lose part of their rebate.

Women and the disabled will be disproportionately affected.

Not quite what Reform UK had promised.
Council tax shock for thousands of Durham’s poorest – thanks to Reform UK
Durham will scrap full council-tax rebates, forcing 26,000 low-income working-age residents to start paying for the first time

Told you so! The Telegraph denounces Brexit as 'unmitigated economic disaster'
We've now got The Telegraph joining the Brexit resistance, after the formerly pro-leave paper ripped into its 'near-disastrous' consequences.

Media debates around Farage’s alleged behaviour at school have centred on ‘does it matter it was ages ago?’. That’s the wrong question. The question is what does his pathetic non-apology show about his inability to recognise the lasting impact of racism and his immature, non-statesmanlike attitude?

The scale of the Brexit damage forces the less dishonest Brexiters to admit reality.

(Sunak, same paper, continues to delude himself and his readers)
(Farage would rip up any reset and plunge business into more costly uncertainty)

Not the Brexit deal.
Brexit.
A prejudiced moronathon that will continue to damage our country until we’re brave/sane enough to admit it, demand accountability from those who insisted upon it and then, finally, start to fix it.
The tide is turning. Even the Telegraph is now admitting the damage the Brexit deal has done to the economy.

After Biden commuted the sentences of 37 men on federal death row last year, the Trump administration is retaliating by sending them to the supermax. Prisoners are locked in cells smaller than a parking space 22-24 hours a day.

One prisoner told me he fears he won't make it out alive.

My latest:

Trump officials are retaliating by imposing the harshest conditions in the entire federal prison system, including near total isolation.
