If you're in Illinois and facing criminal charges from protesting ICE, or if you were attacked by ICE or law enforcement supporting them, I might be able to represent you pro bono. Email me at sheryl@weikallaw.com. As always, I will take as many cases as I can.

Keep your eyes on Jack Schlossberg.

He's without a doubt, the best Kennedy warrior to keep the heat on RFK, Jr., the biggest embarrassment to the family.

He's just not going to let RFK, Jr. get away with anything.

OK sports fans, so this is my last bulletin for my position at @losangelestimes.bsky.social. I resigned yesterday in protest of the paper's and owner's cozying up to Trump. Here's my explanation on my substack, where I hope you will follow me going forward.

I’m going to say something historians rarely say.

We haven’t been here before.

We haven’t had a near-authoritarian takeover of our government.

Admittedly, we don’t know what comes next.

There’s a wide array of options.

But know that in the US, this is new ground. And none of this is normal.

You may look at the blocklist and decide you want to block all on it; you may decide you want to block me, too. That’s OK—that’s how Bluesky works. But signing on blindly to a blocklist made by a Soviet-born computer expert who’s not using his real name here and shows Putinist sympathies isn’t wise.

Alert: The guy who runs the largest anti-progressive blocklist—the one seeking to eliminate from Bluesky anyone who wrote on the Trump-Russia scandal—speaks Russian and uses the Russian imperialist spelling (Kharkov) of the city he studied in (Kharkiv) on his LinkedIn. Be wary of @numb.comfortab.ly.

So a local radio personality in my neck of the woods thinks like this: Gaetz got out of his mess by resigning. Once Rubio gets confirmed to the cabinet, OrangeClown (hereinafter 🍊🤡) will withdraw Gaetz' name for AG and let DeSantis appoint him to the Senate. 🤮

We're all going to have to realize that anticipating the failure of the second Trump administration isn't the same thing as rooting for America to fail. The only way American democracy resurrects itself is if the kakistocracy Trump is building does exactly what one would suspect and screws everyone.

We will need a new committee to study whether we approve this Department. 🤪
Is it efficient to create an additional layer of bureaucracy named “Departament of Government Efficiency”?
