Fox gives Trump a platform during their NFL broadcast to peddle his absurd lies about "prices are coming way down", "we inherited a mess," and "our country has over $17 trillion being invested in it." Absolutely shameful for all involved.

There are a lot of people who are very eager to sacrifice every federal government employee and declare that any sentiment to the contrary is treasonous. Or at least to say that this should be done. And, uh, how many of them are willing to starve, lose their housing, even die for endless shutdown?
Seeing this sentiment get treated as traitorous is really wearing my patience thin.

Reductions in Force not required by shutdowns, have never happened in any previous shutdown, and a judge has ruled they are illegal.
The shutdown is an excuse, not a reason, for them to do what they wanted to do: destroy government.

As usual the "economic anxiety" argument is being deployed to whitewash the odious views of wildly privileged people who want to get into power and make thing even worse for the poor. If this kid is racist it's because he's racist, it's not because he's struggling.

I think millennials and gen Z do have it harder than Boomers in a lot of ways, but Nikki Haley's kid is not remotely a victim of that trend.

The article says he's struggling because unemployment is high (it isn't), foreigners are taking jobs (they aren't) and crime is rampant (it's not).
People wildly overestimate the economic security experienced by past generations. There's no period in American history where significant numbers of young people were just handed high paying jobs. Nostalgia for a time that never existed is a huge problem.
Why Nikki Haley’s son went radical: His generation inherited insecurity.

I profile Nalin Haley, a fascinating young man, who I believe will likely play an important role in conservative politics in years to come.

We NEVER do this for young women, or say that society and the economy should be built around their feels.
