It’s fun thinking about how police would react if someone walked into the station claiming they’d been assaulted because someone threw a sandwich at their chest, and about how other cops think about this one acting like an assault victim because of a sandwich impact right on his bullet proof vest.
Border Patrol agent Lairmore testifies that he was not injured by the sandwich, but he felt the impact through his ballistic vest.

The sandwich came apart and "kind of exploded" on his chest upon impact, he says.

"I could smell the onions and mustard."

Arizona teachers' costumes weren't about Charlie Kirk. They're facing death threats anyway

Q: Americans have been watching videos of ICE tackling a young mother, tear gas being used in a Chicago residential neighborhood, and the smashing of car windows. Have some of these raids gone too far?"

Please remember that the disgust people have over Christopher Columbus is not based on some modern, 21st century “woke” ideology, but rather on contemporaneous accounts of atrocities that make many modern genocides appear quaint in comparison.

Below, are the accounts of Bartlomé de las Casas.

From Friday's #SCOTUS ruling in the Venezuela TPS case: "Although the posture of the case has changed, the parties’ legal arguments and relative harms generally have not. The same result that we reached in May is appropriate here."

One problem: the May ruling didn't *analyze* those arguments/harms:

The ICE coward who said this after invading a home and marching children outside at 2AM, naked and zip-tied, just perfectly articulated the MAGA mantra: “Fuck them kids”.

I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

LAT headline is that the acquittal was “despite” chief’s testimony, while this post suggests it was BECAUSE OF his (racist) testimony (on cross).

The headline reflects the persistent default frame that law enforcement is entitled to a “presumption of regularity.”

Juries increasingly disagree.
Federal prosecutors are really struggling to get convictions of protesters.

A Chief flies across the country to testify. He is questioned on the stand about his past racist statements about undocumented people. And, he swears the defendant hit a federal agent.

The jury didn't buy it.
Protester Found Not Guilty of Assault Despite Top Border Patrol Official’s Testimony

Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino...who led a phalanx of military personnel into MacArthur Park this summer...flew in to testify from Chicago.

After a little over an hour, the jury came back with the acquittal.

Contrary to claims made by its proponents, the mass deportations' components of the Big Beautiful Bill will not improve its CBO score. Indeed, it will make it much worse. Accounting for lost net revenue from immigrants adds nearly $1 trillion in additional cost.

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.
