Bring down those bills!
The US is building a record amount of electricity generation capacity in 2025 to meet rapidly growing demand. And its overwhelmingly clean energy, with a bit of gas. Meanwhile the Trump administration wants to stop permitting of new solar and wind projects.

This is such an insane statistic that it's hard to understand. 40% of what is shipped is fossil fuels -- not 40% of things are shipped *by* fossil fuels. 40% of *what is being carried* is the fossil fuels themselves.

The first-in-the-nation regulation, passed last year, will cut NOx emissions from more than 1 million boilers and water heaters in the smoggy Los Angeles…

The energy provisions in the Republicans' One Big Horrible Bill are truly so bad! Who wants this? The country's automakers don't want it. Electric utilities don't want it. Data center developers don't want it. Manufacturers in energy intensive industries don't want it. 🔌💡

“Everyone” can support our dear leader by not driving and flying! That’s right he said everyone!
With oil prices up over 20% in the past month — and the situation in Iran making things worse — Trump sends a message to “everyone”

This is good news, and cannot wait to see some of these duckbills on our roads
A reprieve for the USPS trucks:

The Senate parliamentarian ruled overnight that this provision violates the rules of budget reconciliation

It **cannot** appear in Trump and Republicans’ “One Big Beautiful Bill.”
👀 Scoop: Trump and Republicans want USPS to sell off its brand new EVs and chargers.

That would mean literally **ripping up post office parking lots** to auction off assets with no private-sector value.

It’s buried in the Senate’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

The security reason to electrify transport is not about oil imports, it’s economic resilience. Oil powers 90% of US vehicles, so when the price of oil spikes because of a war, people & companies pay more for energy, which hurts the economy. The more transport is electrified, econ security goes up.

The just released text of the Senate Budget bill mandates the sale of 2-3 million acres of public lands to fossil fuel companies and developers. Resist.
🚨 Senate Republicans are at it again — trying to sneak a massive public lands sell-off into their budget bill.

The GOP's "Big Beautiful Bill" takes money from people who can't afford food and health care and gives it to those who can afford first class travel and second homes. And this analysis excludes impacts on energy costs, which will also go up and are highly regressive. See repeatproject.org/reports 🔌💡

Top climate priorities:

1. Electrify everything. Yes even that.
2. Stop burning anything for energy. Seriously.
3. Build and install as much solar PV and batteries as you have money for using the latest technology.

If we don’t do these 3 things as fast as possible our civilisation might be lost.

But the TLDR here is that we've actually significantly improved our reliability position in the last 4 years, largely by deploying boatloads of solar, wind and energy storage.
