When considering these conditions that persisted for months before the President’s federalization of the NG, this Court concludes that even giving great deference to the President’s determination, the President did not have a lawful basis to federalize the National Guard under 10 U.S.C. § 12406.

the protests from this Administration that their hands are tied by the law and the need not to step on Congress's prerogatives in making SNAP payments available to poor people would be laughable if it weren't so pernicious
for them it’s like the equivalent of ticking time bomb case. The most extraordinary and extreme efforts, and bending the way till it breaks, to head off the irreparable harm which in this case is allowing very poor Americans to purchase food.

A lot of the Oregon media had the story (a few graphs about the rescue effort) a couple of weeks ago about the Corvallis woman being swept out to sea. Here's the rest of the story.

That's not troubling ... at all (/sarcasm)
So... Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) asked the 4 nominees in this hearing a simple question -- if Trump directed you to break the law, would you follow the law or follow the president's directive? -- and not one could just say they'd follow the law.

It's also weird that interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan told @annabower.bsky.social that she's NOT a journalist. It says she's an editor in her X bio, for an organization that has "media" in its URL name. She's urging Anna to write her own stories. I know it's a bit of a hybrid, but still, this

You'd think a lawyer (an insurance lawyer!) would understand contract law. That's basically what going off the record is, a mutual agreement.
Oh nooooo, Lindsey Halligan, this is not how any of this works

Highlights from Oregon Gov. Kotek's presser:
Because the 2nd TRO is in effect at this time, no National Guard (OR or CA) can be deployed at this moment.
Any such deployment would be a "gross, unamerican abuse of power."

One good takeaway from Trump building a ballroom and talking about building an arch is that it may be a concession he won't seek (and/or force) a (unconstitutional) third term.
