I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: an administration (and its supporters) who believe that they are not limited by the rule of law have no moral or philosophical claim to the protection of the rule of law. “The law is whatever we say it is” warrants the same in response.

Watching conservatives go from "If you don't want to go to jail, don't break the law" to "The laws don't apply to us or our god king" in the span of nine years has been a wild ride.

My Washington Post op-ed is up. You'll never guess what it's about. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
Opinion | Yes, it’s okay to compare Trump to Hitler. Don’t let me stop you.
My very minor status as an authority on Hitler comparisons stems from having coined “Godwin’s Law” more than three decades ago.

I think I can say with a clean conscience I’m not a shameless biden shill but to me the main reason you vote for him is the opportunity to vote for somebody better in 2028 will not exist if he loses

Also remember, kids:
Fascism is NOT consistent AT ALL. The only goal is for the select to amass as much power as possible and they will break any rule (yes, even their own) to get there.

Stop looking for rationality within fascism. It doesn't exist.

When people say that the USA is a racist country many people (esp. white folks) take offense, but not me; I nod and say: yes, clearly. Because even the freeways we drive on in 2023 have racist impact, every single day, even when well-intentioned folks drive on them.

There's an old joke about an engineer waiting his turn at the guillotine who, after a series of condemned men before him have been pardoned and set free because the blade keeps jamming on the way down, says "Hold on! I've spotted the problem."

So it's Guillotines today?

The guillotines start 1 minute 17 seconds in, along with the music of Francis Poulenc as sung by Jessye Norman inter alia:

It's easy to laugh now but the situation at Burning Man is going to deliver so much generative disruption down the line. They're going to invent cannibalism and create an app for it called Eatr. Multiple companies that market sharpened sticks will get eight-figure venture investment.
