this is a really an unfathomable level of evil

“shut off all foreign aid” is of course just as evil but it’s a blunt instrument, where you don’t have to directly face the specific programs you’re killing

but these little fucks were manually vetoing PEPFAR time and again
Remember when the WH insisted that global HIV prevention & treatment was exempt from the freeze? When it seemed MAYBE they understood that cutting off medicine could put the entire planet at risk of drug resistant HIV strains?

Wrong. Elon Musk’s interns were simply shutting payments off manually.

Even the most disturbing RFK Jr. headline always manages to have a detail inside creepier than you could have imagined. I’m sorry, did you just say Black kids should have a chance to get “re-parented”???? Gift link wapo.st/4hW2xGI

if I were writing stories about the gov "firing thousands of probationary workers" I would probably rewrite as "firing thousands of new hires -- who are often on a status called "probation" --" because I think the general understanding of "probation" is "in trouble for something they did"

why teach your children (future workers) to read when all you need them to do is follow orders? it’s much better to have an uneducated populace when your goal is control of the masses with the intent to make money off of their labor.

Also true for the brain.

The pronounced neurotropism of the current #H5N1 clade 2.3.4.4b is highlighted by high viral loads in the brain and minimal or no viral presence in the lungs. There was a shift in virus behavior. shorturl.at/wVyRT

I will keep advocating "cash cash cash" because one major thing that demoralizes me is how I don't have disposable income to give to GoFundMes, and to a much lesser extent, Kickstarters and charities.
With cash I can choose to send someone $5 instead of splurging on a takeout.
As a disabled, chronically ill person with a compromised immune system…
If we’re talking sums like which “experiences” usually require…
Please just consider giving money.
Add a card, a lovingly written letter, whatever.
But consider giving money.
y'all will soon start seeing all the hot takes about how experience gifts are more meaningful and beautiful than physical gifts, and this is going to sound very persuasive so I want you to look at me, look in my eyes as I say to you:

DO NOT GIVE EXPERIENCE GIFTS.

The alternative to safe use is not less drug use, it’s just unsafe drug use.
