Nature isn’t a “blocker” – it makes our lives better.

Our coast, countryside, heritage and wildlife underpin our food, water and health and put millions of pounds into the economy. The Government must not weaken the laws that protect them.

PERSON OF THE DAY. 19 November 1703. The Man in The Iron Mask died. He was an unidentified prisoner held for 34 Years in several French prisons. Mystery still surrounds his actual identity. The story was made popular via the Alexandre Dumas novel, with the English title, The Man In The Iron Mask.

What's worse is that the journalists just sat there and accepted it. They should remember that moment if the state comes for them in the future and all their colleagues turn a blind eye. Not surprising though, their Palestinian colleagues found out very quickly.
I think the President of the US responding to a question about the murder of a journalist with "A lot of people didn't like that gentleman" is probably pretty bad.

Very valid point!
I mean, look, I'm not a reporter, so who am I to talk?

But on a day where the president both just called a woman reporter "Piggy" and is celebrating someone who had people bone saw apart one of my colleagues, I might just be a little ready to defend my colleagues and profession.

But that's just me

Government is ramping up its affordable schemes, but is the offering as good as it sounds?

To get cheered on by Tommy Robinson as they kick some of the most vulnerable people on earth?

How are they not all dying of shame

If you love trees, birds, dolphins, forests, butterflies, elephants, wildflowers, whales, or any nature, then this regards you directly.

Even if you don't, it still regards you directly, because we all depend on nature for our survival.

It's *all* political.
The reason why we're failing to protect the natural world is the same as with climate:
bsky.app/profile/geor...
Climate breakdown is driven by a storm of lies. This lying is systemic, funded and coordinated, and operates across almost all media, old and new.
This week's column argues that we cannot fight the climate crisis without also fighting the epistemic crisis.
