Deeply midwestern. Policy, health, religion, and environment. Still trying to figure this place out. 🇺🇸

This is the way. A unified message denouncing cruel, corrupt, and unconstitutional approaches to governance.
I’ll keep pushing this line of analysis because I’m increasingly convinced the clearest path out of this mess is for Dems to adopt a relentless anti-corruption, anti-inequality, anti-oligarchy, pro-democracy platform. The Dem leadership hasn’t realized it yet, but they’re now a reform party.

serious note: they're gonna try 5x harder to sabotage the midterms after tonight and we're gonna have to organize on a literally historic scale to stop them

Every unlawful exertion of executive power has been pretextual--e.g., DEI, crime in cities, drug trafficking, antisemitism, waste, fraud, abuse, indoctrination, autism, insurrection--the real motive is and has always been to consolidate autocratic rule.

Shout out to all the small town protesters out there.

There is no anonymity in a tiny town. No strength in numbers or hiding in a crowd. When you stand up for democracy in a small town, EVERYONE knows. Y'all are brave as hell. #NoKings

I choose to believe in America not for our constitutional faults but because of our ability to remake the constitutional order out of political rot.
American constitutionalism stinks. Excessive authority given to unelected judges and non democratically elected presidents. Too much power given to unpopulated States in Senate. Gerrymandered House. Ineffective amendment and impeachment process. Parliamentary system is better form of Government.

Find ways to share messages with people who don’t normally consume the same news as you.
I know BlueSky isn't the sportsiest place in the entire world. And I also know that American sports, in general, doesn't do the best job with directly engaging in the world...

But, man, this just seems like an enormous opportunity to directly address a bunch of real stuff to a distinct audience.

Stupid messaging from the opposition is leading to many weaponized regime supporters. Don’t underestimate their power.
All the Trump Administration is doing is pissing off Americans. In my opinion the country is extremely close to extreme fighting.

There are too few MAGA supporters to take control of an extremely large and extremely weaponized country.

Big Ag ensures that government subsidies will buy midwestern elections.
Here we have the Treasury secretary saying explicitly that economic policy is being made based on who voted for Trump. So now all of us will be paying for a farm bailout caused by Trump's idiotic trade war. Congrats, America!

Yes. The descent into authoritarianism has not been felt by majorities in the US. Highlighting the corruption needs to be on billboards.
The Democrats have no leverage until people understand how much the Republicans have taken an ax, broken the kitchen table, and set it on fire at a Stephen Miller rally. Tariffs+hiring+heath care+firings is an economic equation no Mom can solve. I
Calculating those premiums, based on existing law which includes GOP cuts, is urgent and important right now. If people don't see the problem they won't react to it. Health insurers have a vested interest in communicating this.

Maybe the point is to weaken our defense though?
I mean, even if you're completely confident that you can secure the site, wouldn't a great time for an adversary to do something aggressive be ... you know ... when all the commanding officers are in Virginia doing trustfalls or getting fired or whatever?

What we can do is talk about pregnancy as the complex issue that it is. Nothing in the human experience compares to the emotional range a pregnancy causes. 1/2
No, we do not. We have to actually stand for something. And communicate it effectively. Then go out and persuade non-voters to vote and to vote for the things we stand for.

It’s always been about controlling the message. It was never about censorship.
Losing my ever-loving-mind watching the same people who were just clutching their pearls claiming censorship over mean emails from WH staffers to Twitter about COVID misinfo are now HAVING THE FCC CHAIR openly threaten broadcast licenses over a joke about the president AND THE BROADCASTERS CENSOR IT

There are a lot of people who simply don’t hear about the violence, and political corruption and cruelty because their media environment doesn’t allow it.
Of course it seems like most political violence comes from the left ... if you are simply unaware or deny the existence of all that violence happening from the right.

Also: Is Patel here clueless or disingenuous? My gut says clueless, bc not sure he's a good enough actor to fake this cluelessness.
