My phone collects lots of fundraising messages in its spam folder. This morning I fished out five recent appeals from incumbent senators gearing up for next year and replied STOP.

Young progressive challengers only from now on.

Whatever they build will have to be torn down for national security. Like the US embassy in Moscow in 1985, discovered to be irreparably compromised even before completion.

Don't use phone app technology when a web site will do, without introducing a point of control. This is why we have HTML5.

This decision may have more serious repercussions to Apple than they realize.
This was done at the direction of Pam Bondi. The US government is now dictating what apps you can have on your phone.

The underlying threat here is if Apple didn't comply, they'd slap billions in tariffs on Apple products.

You don’t need to be a rebel to defy. Defiance isn’t about personality, it’s a practice – one that’s becoming essential in workplaces, politics and everyday life.

Donald Trump doesn't need to deploy the National Guard to stoke fear in Massachusetts. It's already happening with ICE.

This is your regular reminder that LUCE is a great community resource. If you suspect an ICE sighting, please call so they can spread the word: 617-370-5023

Landau can't speak for DHS/ICE, so this counts for nothing. This sort of investment in the USA will disappear until we elect a new government and hold DHS/ICE criminally accountable.

(current Dems coasting back into "power" doesn't count)
"Regret" for what? Every bit of this was Trump admin policy, including the arbitrary rounding up of everyone in sight, the appalling conditions of their confinement, and the delayed release.

Is anyone in the Trump admin / DHS / ICE getting fired over it? No. Are any policies being changed? Also no.
US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau expressed regret on Sunday over the recent detention of hundreds of South Korean workers in Georgia and said those who returned home will face no disadvantage when re-entering the US

The jets were not to distract, they were to intimidate women into silence. Because he's afraid of what they could say.
The guy that ordered 8 fighter jets to perform a low altitude fly-over in an effort to drown out Epstein survivors is the same guy who wants you to believe he's innocent.

I've got a 49 star flag (kinda rare) ready to fly.
“If I got Moscow and Leningrad free”?! WTF does that mean?? What kind of “deal” is he thinking he is negotiating?

He’s going to try to give away Alaska, isn’t he
Leningrad was renamed St. Petersburg in 1991

If we want to build a Versailles, let's expand the Capitol to accomodate a 2000 member House
We think of the White House as a big mansion, but the point is it's not a palace. It's a house. It's modest, one of the smallest residences for a head of state. The east and west wings are deliberately minimal and unobtrusive. It's not Versailles or Buckingham. It symbolizes civic republicanism.

If your business had just closed a $150b funding round, would you be bragging about hiring hundreds of new workers? ICE is despised, demoralized, and feeling the pressure.
A couple thoughts:

- ICE says a lot of this rehiring people who retired in the last few years.
- ICE has over 21,000 employees, of which around 12,500 are LEOs. It’s unclear what normal hiring at replacement level looks like on an annual basis, so it’s hard to put this figure into context.
The agency responsible for carrying out President Donald Trump’s mass deportations agenda says it has already made tentative job offers to more than 1,000 people as it ramps up hiring following the passage of legislation earlier this month giving the agency a massive infusion of cash.

NASA instituted "dual anonymous peer review" (DAPR) for Hubble space telescope proposals. The acceptance rate for proposals from male-led and female-led teams is now equal, where females used to be at a 2X disadvantage.
Yesterday, I judged two rounds of college mock trial at Iona. The teams from Hamilton, Brown, Cornell & Dartmouth were well-prepared, passionate and technically adept.

One rule is that judges do not learn the identity of the teams until after turning in scores to avoid bias.

It is a good rule.
