Glorified dog sofa. Spondy. Dementia carer. “Worst Housing Officer in the world”, okayest supported housing manager. Misplaced Geordie, adopted Devonian.
Family FaceTime call done. It’s a Christmas tradition I particularly enjoy because a) it’s nice to see the family and b) I love my dad’s inability to hang up so I get to watch him carry the phone around the house looking for my sister so she can end the call for him.

Due to an online order fuck up I am now in Sainsbury's doing a full Christmas shop and I don't know if you've seen Uncut Gems

I’ve not even left the car yet and I’m already regretting popping down to the big shop.

I had a surprise turkey and trimmings dinner today. We’d ordered a bunch of dinners at a local pub for the project residents and some people dropped out so we ended up having to step in and eat food that had been made and was going to be have to be paid for. There are worse problems to have I guess.

I’m eating a Wotsit Mac’n’Cheese and it feels like this wouldn’t be allowed if we were still in the EU.

Over diagnosis discourse: I manage a project that houses and supports people with enduring mental health issues such as psychosis, schizoaffective disorders, personality disorders and so on. Most are unable to work due to their conditions and the side effects of the treatments they have to take.

Brave of Reeves to announce the return of the Invacar. You’d never get a Mercedes SUV on the touchline to watch the footy.

Twenty five years ago I lived a flat in the Westgate Road in Newcastle. In amongst all the motorbike shops for anyone who knows the area. Our side of the street backed onto the walls of the S&N brewery. This is where I shared a flat with Dirty Bob (see various terrible anecdotes for further details)

Decided as it is Monday and I’d had a 1:1 supervision that I nearly wept in (the curses of middle age and working/caring), I’m having a lovely skirt steak in brioche sandwich and cappuccino in the Mansion House Canteen for lunch.

It’s the little random things that catch you out caring for a loved one with young onset dementia. Like discovering the toaster was inexplicably turned up to max for some reason via the medium of bread immolation.
