CNN: That's not what farmers are telling you. One farmer at a town hall told you tariffs drove up prices of fertilizer

ALFORD: It was Biden that drove it up

C: That's not what the farmer told you

A: Well, that's what I'm telling you

C: Sir, excuse me. Are you listening to your constituents?

Dhillon's looking into if the state violates prisoners’ rights by “housing biological males in units designated for females.”

It's great to see congressional Dems fighting to protect Congress's power of the purse right now. But congressional Rs also know that Trump and Vought are seizing their core constitutional power. These Rs furrow their brows but won't join the fight. Pathetic. www.notus.org/trump-white-...
Billions in Taxpayer Dollars Have Become Virtually Untraceable
The Trump administration’s aggressive approach to overhauling the executive branch has obscured how federal dollars are actually being spent — even for the members of Congress.

For Expertise to Matter, Nonpartisan Institutions Need New Communications Strategies
To avoid irrelevance when they are needed most, experts and nonpartisan analysts must rethink not just their channels of communication but also their theory of influence.

As America nears a tipping point, Russell Vought desires a radical rightwing “counter-revolution.”

For @zeit.de, I wrote a profile of one of Trumpism’s key figures – and one of Trump’s most dangerous henchmen.

Some thoughts from the piece (since it is in German):
Russell Vought: Das ist Trumps gefährlichster Stratege
Er organisiert vom Weißen Haus aus den Umbau der USA. Russell Vought ist Spitzenjurist, christlicher Nationalist – und die subtile Kampfmaschine im Auftrag von Trump.

It's not your imagination: Wildfire smoke in the U.S. has dramatically worsened since 2019. According to a new study, it's already killing 41,000 people a year - and it's poised to get much worse.

Record wildfire smoke kills more people each year than car crashes. It’s about to get worse.
The past six summers have been the smokiest on record. New research shows that smoke could become the costliest consequence of climate change for Americans.

I somehow missed this incredible story last month. Apparently the cops who killed Tyre Nichols will get a new federal trial.

Why? Because someone shot a clerk for the judge who presided over the original trial, and the judge believes the shooter is in a gang that's connected to one of the cops.

SWALWELL: Did you ever tell the AG that Trump's name is in the Epstein files

PATEL: The AG and I have had numerous discussions about the entirety of the Epstein files

S: Did you tell AG that Trump's name is in the files?

People don’t like it when I say it, but the main place you’ll be pressured to participate in fascism is work. Especially if you work in a battleground space like government or academia.

None of your weekend organizing can ever make up for active participation in the fascist project at your day job.

If you feel like there’s nothing you can do to stop all of this, start by refusing to participate in fascist demands. And don’t ever justify the behaviors of people who capitulate.

They can’t do any of this without cooperation. The main thing most people need to do is just refuse that cooperation.
