I have been thinking about this. A lot.
My question is who is doing all the Epsteining for these powerful wealthy men now?

In no way are your 20s the best years of your life.
Many 20-somethings feel like they’re falling far behind peer, parental, and societal expectations when it comes to meeting adult milestones. But if your 20s are the best years of your life, Meg Jay argues, “something has gone seriously wrong.”
We’re Thinking About Young Adulthood All Wrong
Twenty-somethings aren’t delayed or doomed.

Just got the FB memory of when the “run, hide, fight” alert went out. My son huddled in his dorm. Kids stuck in the gym and library. Then to learn the outcome. Scary, tragic, immeasurably sad. My heart goes out to these families today.

In the richest country in history.
SNAP surveys SNAP users. Already half of them are saying they are skipping meals.

I was on a jury in DC for double homicide. Lots of complicated evidence. 4 weeks of testimony. A few hours of deliberations. How does this really take more than half an hour?
The jury is entering deliberations now. If they come to a verdict today, cool! If not, they’ll be dismissed at 5 and we will return tomorrow for Day 4 of not the simplest case in the history of the world.

They did it! And sent evidence! Vote!

I have two boys in college in VA. They have a plan to vote today. I raised voters! They’ve managed the algorithms by staying grounded in facts and leaning into empathy. I suspect they will make smart choices.

NATO just posted this on Instagram

If you know anything about me, you know this is the 2nd greatest day of my life

Pregnant women and new moms worry so much. I see you. You’re doing fine. Take a deep breath. Listen to your doctor and your grandma.

I have watched states delay releasing test scores for months as they work to message results and hope no one is paying attention.

Heartbreaking. Giving birth 10 times only to watch them all die? That mom would have accepted the remote chance of a side effect for the miracle of a vaccine.
Looking up something in the Boston census of 1900, and these are just other families on the same pages.

2 children surviving out of 14
1 child surviving out of 5
0 children surviving out of 10
3 children surviving out of 4

In 2025.
“Among the states collecting data for the #measles -mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, 68% of counties and jurisdictions now have immunization rates below 95% — the level of herd immunity doctors say is needed to protect against an outbreak.” #Ivax2protect #freedom #CommunityImmunity
SPECIAL REPORT: A large swath of the U.S. currently does not have the basic, ground-level immunity necessary to stop the spread of viruses that had once receded into the past, a six-month NBC News investigation in collaboration with scientists at Stanford University finds.

This was me all day today.
Just explained to my wife and her 84-year-old aunt what a Groyper is.

This is a super interesting read. We desperately need to help young men get offline.
For everyone who now needs a quick education on the extreme far right wing Groyper movement that has been out to get Charlie Kirk for not being far right enough for years, here you go.

My mother went to high school in a small midwestern town in the 1950s. She told me stories of terrifying polio outbreaks and the day they all excitedly lined up at the school for the vax when it became available.
“A new volunteer-led organization called Grandparents for Vaccines launched Sunday on National Grandparents Day with a mission to share firsthand experiences of life before vaccines were widely available.” [kgw.com]

We all had more than a decade of fun and good internet before it got bad. We had years of fun social media before it grew toxic. AI doesn’t seem to have even one good day. Not sure how it gets past early negative reactions.

We’d love to know if people are using rescued data. We have download numbers but it would be helpful to know how people are using them! If you have use cases get in touch!
Heartfelt thank you to the work of the @datarescueproject.org as I am writing my dissertation to ensure the stats I included will be able to be corroborated if anyone needs to in the future. Gave a s/o in a footnote 🫡
