It's amazing that #cloudflare is down, and therefore so is half the internet, but once it's back up and running nobody will make the argument that maybe 3 companies shouldn't manage the entire internet.

We learned nothing from the #AWS outage last month.

Tastes like Fascism
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

Woke up thinking about Onibaba (1964).

What a film.
Two women survive in warring feudal Japan by tricking and murdering samurai, and stealing their belongings.
But when someone gets between the two women, the eldest tells of an evil curse that may be on them both...

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

Sure, I suppose there is someone who could be friends with Jeffrey Epstein and not a) be involved in his sex crimes or b) not know about them.

But if you think Donald Trump is one of those people, you probably ate paint chips as a child.

Speaker Johnson has literally said he's "not promising anyone anything."

For once, I believe him.

Listen Kaine, Hassan, King, Cortez-Masto, Durbin, Shaheen, Rosen, and Fetterman. You're NOT gonna take away my 2025 election joy. We voted in that election for folks to FIGHT for us. That doesn't include YOU.

YOU are what we voted AGAINST last Tuesday. So I'm gonna hang on to that.

Imani has some scathingly accurate videos on how the Dems caved on healthcare (and will continue to do so) because 1) they'll be using it for midterms and 2) private equity is set to make trillions off of us since Covid mass-disabled this country. It pisses me off, bc I can see it.
By the way, this has been the Democrats party for decades. They’ve skated by for years on this “at least we’re not republicans” bullshit, meanwhile enabling them at every turn.

This is just the time during which you can ill afford their feckless ways.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

Support the Stand Up for Sudan Act, and boycott the UAE for financing and arming the RSF committing genocide in Sudan. #BDStheUAE
The UAE needs to be held accountable for its arming of the genocidal RSF. That's why I have introduced my Stand Up for Sudan Act that would block sales to the UAE until they stop sending weapons to the RSF.
