The only reason Homan replaced Bovino as the face of the occupation is because his lies are more polished and he doesn’t dress like a member of the Third Reich in public. But the policies and the state instigated violence remain unchanged.

Cops have had this for a while. It’s been in use in multiple border sheriffs depts for a long time to register and scan people they detain. And yes it’s a huge privacy risk.
My understanding is that the scanning device is not a phone, unless that’s new technology.

ICE just announced a no-bid contract with BI2 Technologies for iris and facial recognition tech that ICE agents can have on their iPhones. The software scans all databases nationally to identify people.
