Apparently people are doing sing-alongs to songs at screenings of Wicked. I find that so annoying when it happens. I remember one time I went to a movie revival and everyone was singing-along to Singing In The Rain. It ruined A Clockwork Orange for me.

in the last few years I stopped treating pleas about false equivalence seriously and started treating them as a tell - the speaker has given up trying to actually defend the behavior we're talking about, hoping that they can distract you with some other, worse behavior offscreen
