I think that I have to be away from here and twitter for the foreseeable future. The last week's news here in the UK is all that I seem to be able to come across, and I decided I needed a few days away for my wellbeing. I've tried to come back today and it's just made me feel utterly hopeless again.
I'm just so tired. Why won't they leave us alone? We didn't fucking do anything.

Today’s protest in London against the Supreme Court ruling was staggering in size.
Huge respect to those who made this happen in just a matter of days.

If sex is natural and biological why does it have to be “assigned at birth”? And why is it so rigidly policed? Boys shamed for wearing dresses etc? If sex were natural it wouldn’t need policing. And is sex genitals, chromosomes, hormones, gonads or brains? How is sex “assigned”? And why?

Attempting to ban trans women from using the women’s restroom isn’t about just making us use the men’s restroom—it’s about trying to make it so unsafe for us to use public restrooms that we disappear from public life.

Why do people seem to care so much more, to the point of sometimes actively feeling like avoid seeing it at all, when a cat or a dog dies in a film/TV show than they do when a person dies?

I've wondered for a while whether, while Lando has generally been fairly consistent as the faster McLaren since 2023, Oscar might have the higher ceiling and overtake him at some point. I'm not entirely convinced we haven't hit that point. Oscar looking incredibly confident right now.

Because they were talking about Jackie Stewart doing a showrun with a helmet signed by every living world champion, I did have a look because I was curious who that was. I fully thought until this moment that Keke Rosberg was dead.

Well that was a depressing race weekend. Obviously totally deserved by Max, but I can't believe I woke up this early for THAT. McLaren genuinely dropping the ball, tough race for Lewis, tidy race ruined in quali for Yuki. Couple of points for Alex though, so that's something at least.

McLaren may have fucked this, I fear. Should either have let Oscar have a crack at Max ages ago, or told him to give Lando some space when he started to pick up speed. I think they really could have won this one over the last 20 laps, but they needed to be decisive.

Really stupid from Lando there. McLaren pulled back a second on Verstappen with the stop, if he'd slotted in gently behind him he'd probably have had a good opportunity to overtake within two laps. Instead he's 2 seconds back again because he decided he needed to try and be clever.

Sometimes you really do have productive dreams. Last night I caught what I'm pretty sure was a murderer at a university, woke up, went back to sleep, and mended a long-term fight with a friend (not a real friend, to be clear.) Got a lot done, it was great.
