When you use Windows you can *feel* how much it hates you. It resents the user. SteamOS loves you and greets you with a smile.
Back in 2023 I was trying to decide if I wanted to get a Steam Deck or a Windows based portable system like the Ally and decided to get the Steam Deck because I remembered how frustrating it is trying to use Windows OS stuff on machine types it’s clearly not designed for with the Surface Pro
to play the Xbox version of HALO INFINITE on my $1,000 xbox ally x, i just had verify, repair files, end task for Xbox, uninstall Gaming Services, reupdate the Xbox app in the Microsoft store, update Visual C++ redistributables, reinstall Gaming Services and restart. just like a console on Xmas day!

The goodness of America has been that the founding ideals of universal rights and liberties prevailed over the actually-existing social order of the time. That’s why we can celebrate the men who embedded those ideals in our government despite their own participation in that social order.
There's simply no reason to hearken back to the founders. Insofar as there's any goodness in the history of America, it's largely been found in the rejection of the order this country birthed.

Really our only hope is AI gets traction on improving itself and doing science then does a million years of technological progress in a decade. It would have to want to do that, and who the fuck knows what gods want. It would also have to miraculously align with our values.

You can tell how many of the "grow your own food" people have never grown their own food, because they:
- don't appreciate the acreage necessary to feed even one person
- skip over necessary preservation steps needed to eat in winter
- don't understand that not all soil is viable
- are wankers

Stop telling people to grow their own fucking food. I am sorry to be bitchy but just stop. People don't have the time or resources nor will it make up for how much access to food people are losing. Yeah a backyard garden or community garden is great if you CAN but it's not a fucking solution.
