Trump’s breathtaking assault on the health and health care of Americans continues.

Underreported trade news of the day is that Trump announced that the 15% tariffs on the EU would include pharmaceuticals that have thus far been exempt from tariffs

If tariffs on pharma go up 15% this week it'd be a *massive* escalation of the trade war—the US imports $175B/yr of them from the EU

The War Powers Resolution gives Congress the power to force the President to report on offensive military actions that the President takes. It also gives Congress the power to stop future strikes. I have little hope Congress will invoke this power.

Good news: we’ve RIF’d enough federal employees that we can’t detect these threats, and if we can’t detect them, they must not exist
Huge task now of US and allied IC counterterrorist communities is to detect/deter/disrupt Iranian and her proxy terrorist networks, who may have been activated. (This is separate from countering Iranian conventional military responses, plus cyber.) Lot of work to do.

The JCPOA was one of the greatest diplomatic achievements of the 21st century. Multiple nations, several powerful blocks, a ton of oversight and the entire time diplomats were working it out domestic American media & politicians were demonizing it, lying about it, and trying to sabotage it. They won
Reminder that none of this would've been possible if not for the neocons manipulating Trump's hatred of Obama to kill the JCPOA. From there, safeguards became unconstrained enrichment and all the scary things they're trotting out became possible.

Be careful buying what these guys are still selling.

Good news I've heard lately is how pissed his supporters are. Maybe they'll have to work for 'the people' again if they want to keep their jobs instead of kowtow to trump.
