Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

NEW: Since the start of this year, more than 600 immigrant children have been placed in government shelters by ICE.

That number, which has not been previously reported, is the highest since recordkeeping began a decade ago.
ICE Sent 600 Immigrant Kids to Detention in Federal Shelters This Year. It’s a New Record.

SROs have a bad rap in NYC and S.F., where they were used for/by marginally housed people, but well-maintained ones could be good for all sorts of people, including young folks and new arrivals to city.
From NYT Metro:

There is a push to revive single-room occupancy housing, where kitchens and bathrooms are shared among apartments as small as 100 square feet each.

ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.

Violating the First Amendment to hide the record of all their violations of the Fourth Amendment.
An ICE agent was caught removing a sign marking an ICE kidnapping in DC last week! Do we think he did it out of anger, embarrassment, or most appropriately shame? If you think what you’re doing is right, why are you trying to hide the evidence? 👀

I want Democrats to pledge they will prosecute everyone involved in this. No more "turning the page," no more "looking forward not backward." Everyone from Trump and Miller on down to the ICE agent in the field should face the inside of a prison cell.
A Wash Post review found instances of parents arrested near campuses in at least 10 states so far this year. Actions near campuses—which include shooting a man, releasing tear gas and engaging in a car chase—have prompted lockdowns. @justinemcdaniel.bsky.social www.washingtonpost.com/education/20...

As an American citizen, I’d like to go on record. I didn't vote for this chaos, I don't support this bullshit, and I have never supported our unnecessary military interventions.

This is not the will of the American people, it's the will of the powerful acting in our name.

Cracks me up how you could just replace Venezuela and Venezuelans with Iraq and Iraqis and it’d be indistinguishable from something written in 2002

We talk of refusing unlawful orders, but really that's a very high bar. It's only for orders that are manifestly unlawful, something *obviously* illegal on the face of it. And the core example of that is refusing an order to wantonly murder noncombatants, which is exactly what they are doing.
Oddly enough, in media coverage of Dems' video warning against carrying out illegal orders, there's very little discussion of *whether it's actually reasonable to fear Trump is giving illegal commands or not.*

The evidence is strong that he is. Media should say so:

Every Democrat in Congress should put out a video saying troops have an obligation to refuse unlawful orders. Make them prosecute all of you. This isn't a close call.

I'd add Republicans too if I thought any of them had the courage to actually cross Trump on this.
