This week's Strictly once again makes me feel like the public should probably not be trusted to vote again. It's Brexit all over again.

I've been listening to this excellent book that articulates so well exactly why I've been a lifelong proponent of nuclear energy with the kind of expertise and auctoritas I could only dream of.

I hugely recommend it to all but especially the anti-nuclear crowd.

Going Nuclear
What if climate change isn't an environmental challenge, but an energy challenge? In this visionary book, Dr Tim Gregory urges us to rethink the path to net zero. He argues that the solution to clima...

By deciding to bomb Iran, Trump confirmed two facts about himself: 1) he scolds Ukraine about risking WWIII out of deep deference/sympathy for Ru, not out of caution; 2) his 2-week deadlines to Pu are a stalling tactic, again revealing deference/sympathy for Ru, not caution.

I've seen a couple of posts like this as if they weren't saying it they weren't thinking it.

Actions speak louder than words and Labour have done nothing progressive since coming to power.
After ALL THAT it’s been revealed net migration reduced by half to 431k in the past year. That stupid inflammatory white paper/announcement speech wasn’t even necessary.

🇵🇱🇺🇦 Polish PM Tusk sharply responded to presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki, who suggested Poland might withdraw support for Ukraine’s NATO membership.

“By endorsing this, Nawrocki signs up for Ukraine’s capitulation and dismemberment — deadly dangerous for Poland,” he said.

When people ask you why there's no money to fix potholes this is a contributing factor.
🚨🚨Another lovely nugget from #brexitland (I posted yesterday on a similar story reported by Guardian): Ministers are trying to sell a 1,300-truck #Brexit border check facility in Kent that is set to be rendered redundant by this week’s EU trade pact. So much WINNING. 🧵

That commentators are left trying to work out what Trump's stance on Russia is in a kind of journalistic tea-leaf reading, tells us a simple fact.

Europe can no longer depend on the US for security.

We must urgently strengthen our collective 🇪🇺🇬🇧🇺🇦 defence.

Brexit was a referendum on whether the UK should leave the European Union.

The UK has left the European Union. Referendum fulfilled.

If the people bleating about "Brexit Betrayal" wanted the Referendum to enshrine their pet policy preferences, they should have included them in the question.

Who this legislation is for and what does it hope to achieve when cyclists caused 4 deaths in 2024? Who benefits from jailing cyclists for life when prisons are full?

All it does is shows what a crazy obsession we have with punishment in the UK.

The amendment would also see increased sentences for deaths and serious injury caused by cyclists.
