Okay, this is the part I missed: The DJ is a parish priest. This is a ministry. (And I bet it works.)
Make ye a joyful noise unto the Lord.

Whenever I struggle at work I have a strong urge to Google "what jobs are good for idiots with nuclear engineering phds", is this normal?

the most important part of boba is to always suck SUPER hard to get the last ones that are stuck in the ice. this way they go *right* into your trachea and you die

some of my favorite songs are about shipwrecks and that's just a thing about me

Also if you're looking for a Edmund Fitzgerald book, can I recommend this whole table of books on Great Lakes shipwrecks that I saw in Duluth?
The Edmund Fitzgerald energy is very strong here. Barely a week away from the 50th anniversary of the wreck

50 years ago today the Edmund Fitzgerald sank
The Albuquerque airport is playing The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and I'm literally flying to Duluth

A great many of the good things we used to like about Silicon Valley grew out of the somewhat indulgent management style of LLNL in the 1970s & 80s, like the concept of 20% time which grew entire new directorates.

Yeah, all that’s gone now everywhere. Blame MBAs and Jack Welch.

The breadth of "You have no idea what crazy shit we've tried and shelved decades ago, youngling. Your stupid idea is both stupid and not new. Better people than you have been this stupid." in the nuclear weapons program is quite impressive.

Don't think we're promising to reprocess anyone's sub fuel, or anything to that effect. I think they just want subs, and also to be able to reprocess.
@nuclearkatie.com we need your guidance

all i'm reading is "trump is making a lot of promises that have no chances of being kept right now" along with "fuck what tech are we giving away in the process?"

It's a good book, if you're into historical horror with a trillion ton rock golem as the antagonist.

Sooo many ways to die, and all it takes is a little bit of hubris or bad luck.

For everyone who is not familiar with the vibes of Mt Washington, can I recommend Not Without Peril?

Very well written account of the mountain's recent human history and specifically, how it wants to kill you

Police! Yes, this is the man accusing my perfect girl of begging for food
Behold! A dog who has never experienced love nor has even once had a morsel of food.
Jokes aside -- Ruby's a good girl, but boy does she put on a show to get attention and treats ^_^
