I definitely feel more at home in the PNW than Long Island. There's actually more than two, (2), two of them, persons here who actually likes cherry coca cola and doesn't retort with "but ew, that's like cough medicine" when I mention it??

it's a very silly small thing but it matters

The state Senate is currently debating the Millionaire's Tax and then is going to immediately turn to this estate tax cut.
There's a bill on deck in the state Senate that would lower Washington's estate tax, a $856 million hit to the education legacy trust account through 2031.

I am surprised to see this advanced out of committee without a recommendation from Rebecca Saldaña.

If HB 1834 passes, will Bluesky start age-verifying access to "addictive feeds" for Washington state residents? If so, which feeds will be considered addictive?

Good questions.

UPDATE: they're not goig to try to pass the bill this session, so these questions are now hypothetical!

A thread ...

If you want to learn to crochet I strongly suggest you DO NOT spend $30-$190 on a Woobles kit. Get a 5mm (or 5.5mm or 6mm depending on what the yarn label says) and some inexpensive 4 worsted weight yarn. That’s about $10 or less! Watch videos and read tutorials. Learn to make chains and do basic…

Woobles is charging $30 a little bit of yarn, a hook, and stitch markers. That’s insane! It’s literally a money grab by a woman who worked for Google!

Do you want early detection of Alzheimers and various types of dementia, or do you want a shit autocorrect that takes you three times as long correcting its bullshit than it would to have done the work to begin with?

The world needs one, but we can't afford it because of the other.

This style of light doesn't really appear in animation anymore. You know it when you see it -- it's bright, hot and almost dangerous.

Our new issue explores the tricks behind it, and how one artist has revived the look for the digital age: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/dangerous-...
