This is an essential link in the history of the transformation of the public sphere not the least because--I suspect--many of the communicative strategies of tabloids were integrated into social/digital media, be it strategically (Fox News) or not (as a new cultural formation).
I know there’s a lot happening right now but I want to say this:
I’ve been deeply affected by the way the 80s tabloid media has been almost entirely memory-holed. Not even a lot of today’s media scholars seem to appreciate how much tabloids shaped everything, much less the political scholars

Whether or not you support political violence won’t change where we’ve come to, nor where we’ve been for some time in this country. I am quite taken aback by how many people only invoke the term ‘political violence’ when it happens to a person with power. It’s political violence the other way too.

How is this real? Like they’re not just letting him steal, they’re actively helping him do it. This would be impeachment and conviction based on nothing less than treason if it were any other president doing it, past and future
Update: Bootlicker, Josh Hawley, bent to Trump and gave him an exemption in the bill that would allow him to continue trading stocks and profiting off the presidency. Disgusting.
