Saw this version of the final Calvin & Hobbes online today and… if you can’t tell what’s wrong with it, that’s a shame. But adding shade to the white wrecks the thing. Modern repro keeps doing this: colourising strips at a greater level of “sophistication” than originally printed, and wrecking them.
