I’ve really enjoyed getting my Covid and flu shots in the fall and then spending the rest of the year not having Covid or flu. The fact that this very basic freedom has been taken away is unconscionable. I’m looking for ways to fight back, and stocking up on masks again.
It is shameful that NY is in a handful of states where you can't get a COVID vaccine without a prescription, because Anti Vaxxers took over the FDA & CDC.

@governor.ny.gov fix this now!

The comments section of this post seems to really hate Democratic politicians who lift on social media. I haven't yet thought about mixing up one of my favorite hobbies with my nascent political career, but I do love any lifting content that isn't conservative-coded.
NEW: Democrats are pumping out content of themselves, pumping iron:

"People want to see vigor, they want to see action, that you’re prepared to do the job, doing more than sitting behind a podium regurgitating a litany of nonsensical acronyms"

It's evident that the policies of the Trump regime are unpopular, and we know they'd be soundly rejected if put to a vote. That's why the only question is: what mechanism will they use to stay in power?

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I attended a preliminary “AI Community of Practice” at my work. As people were sharing their use cases, I said “you all know we can’t use this for anything the requires factual accuracy, right?” Why did this seemed like news to everyone?

Just finished the July 1 episode, and it's clear that none of the kids of the @thisdaypod.com hosts have a Minecraft obsession. Otherwise, they'd have the voice of Jack Black singing "tariff chicken" in their head all day.

All of this money to ICE is a catastrophic waste.
Why aren't Democratic Leaders, their party institutions talking about all of this? They should hammer home the point re devastating cuts to healthcare causing millions to lose healthcare and thousands dying.

But, this is also beyond dire. Why the general silence? (1/2)
🚨Want to know where all the immigration enforcement money is going to? We've got you covered!

- $51.6 billion for border wall ($46.6 billion for wall, $5 billion for CBP checkpoints and facilities).
- $45 billion for ICE detention
- $29.9 billion for ICE enforcement

Grand total: $170.7 billion.

I'm over here taking notes. Talking to people is a solid way to run a campaign.
This @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social video is absolutely INCREDIBLE. The numbers he cites, the strategy and results they produced — it’s the future. When have you heard *any* campaign talk about this, ever? (Video split in 2 to fit in Bluesky’s limits)

The numbers are in. "If you meet people's needs... they're less likely to turn to violence." The big, bad, shit sandwich of a budget bill plans will supercharge us to a new era of bad old days.

I am all over this platform!!!

My son’s baseball team couldn’t play a regulation game last week because 5 kids were playing a travel game.

I guarantee: 0/5 of those kids are going to the majors.

I personally stink at team sports, but I support adults who love them and want to play!
picked a hell of a day to be busy af at work - missed discussing literally my favorite thing to scream about

BRING BACK REC LEAGUES

BAN TRAVEL SPORTS OUTSIDE OF LOCAL SCHOOL TRIPS

WHEN I SAY REC LEAGUES I MEAN FOR ALL AGES

we need fun things to do together from lil peanuts to grown folks.

When librarians run for office, we all win.
The woman who shouted "people will die" at Joni Ernst, India May, is a nurse and a librarian who first got involved in politics by going to a town hall about bills aiming to defund libraries.

Now she's running for state house.

I'll be watching the hell out of this. I've been waiting for years for there to finally be a movie about Garfield. The book was amazing.
Learned last night that we’re getting a Netflix miniseries on the Garfield assassination with Michael Shannon as Garfield and Nick Offerman as Chester A. Arthur, and how are we not all talking about this? www.netflix.com/tudum/articl...

More of this! Come on over to the Democratic Party - you have nothing to fear but fear itself.
Orlando City Commissioner Tony Ortiz just switched from Republican to Democratic.

“The Republican Party is not the party I signed up with... The marginalization of Latinos and immigrants—many of whom have helped build this country—is not leadership. It’s fear-based politics.”

I got word yesterday that one of the dedicated Digital Navigators in our program has left because the regime cut all the AmeriCorps funding.

Cutting jobs that help people become more literate is about as wasteful as throwing $60 million into the sea.

I HATE this narrative around Cuomo. The retort to “he got a lot done” isn’t “but he harassed women and was a bully,” it’s “actually he didn’t do much at all – it was just an act – and he let a lot of problems fester with his inaction and awful management style.”
