People have accused my macro photos of being AI which is such a bummer. Like yeah man bugs and crabs are weird but they really do act like that. That’s why nature is cool. AI has ruined weird little guy photography.
The amount of people I see harassing real artists and even wildlife photographers with accusations of AI is genuinely disheartening, and sadly this is just the beginning

THIS IS BIG

For non-academics who might not understand why:
1. Sen. Warren is still a Harvard professor so this is a call coming from inside the house
2. As a tenured law prof, Warren knows it is a VERY big deal from a labor standpoint to call on Harvard to ignore tenure. The bar for this is HIGH.
Per CNN, Elizabeth Warren is calling on Harvard to cut ties with Larry Summers after Jeffrey Epstein's emails released last week by House Dems featured Summers making sexist comments + asking for Epstein’s romantic advice.

This is a great point.
Thinking about 2+ years of anti-Palestinian repression at many of Canada's "top ranked" universities: McGill, U of T, UBC, U of O and especially U of C and U of A (shame!). The Maclean’s rankings don't assess academic freedom & freedom of expression on campus but they should.

“There’s this whole false sense that the genocide is over. But Israel] is carrying out the genocidal project in a less aggressive way, or a less intense way. It’s what some have called the incremental genocide.”

Richard Falk, after detention by Canadian authorities as a 'national security threat.'
Former UN rapporteur who investigated Israeli abuses interrogated in Canada
Falk, who is in Canada for Palestine Tribunal, says questioning reflects push to silence truth of Israel's war on Gaza.

This episode really changed the way I now view my sports management curriculum from college👇
Chen Chen explains that capitalism is the ghost in much progressive sports management scholarship—the system that organizes inequality yet isn’t named.

Almost all forces are pushing Gen Z toward greater exposure to and acceptance of different people and cultures, excluding our reactionary leaders and establishment media.
“Here’s what the data shows: Gen Z has the lowest racial resentment of any generation ever studied.”

This absolutely tracks with years of teaching members of Gen Z.

“Welcome to Canada. Just don’t let us hear you referring to the war criminals who are our friends as war criminals.”
The government of Canada needs to directly address why a 95 year old human rights expert and former UN Special Rapporteur was treated as a threat to national security for coming to speak about Israeli genocide.

I think one happy byproduct of the scourge of AI in pedagogical settings is that educators are increasingly acknowledging that among the very most commendable qualities in students, worthy of recognition and validation, is *effort.*

True. I also hope it'll inspire us to rethink a system in which students have to be overloaded with work (4-6 courses per term, or "full-time) to qualify for loans and bursaries.
