The law is what Trump says it is, international or domestic

SCOTUS made it possible and there is no opposition in congress

The United States is a dictatorship
As we all said, international law, such as it was, no longer exists. The United States, following Israel’s precedent, considers itself to have the explicit authority to blatantly violate sovereignty anywhere in the world and abduct even leaders of other states.

There are no guardrails whatsoever.

"Don’t you like it, Hamas whore?"

Per the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, that's what Israeli guards said to Flotilla member Vincenzo Fullone as they horrifically sexually assaulted him.

He was one of at least 3 members of the Flotilla who were subjected to sexual violence by Israeli authorities.

same universities using austerity as a pretext for shuttering academic programs, no less.

it's like schools will pay for anything but teaching and learning.
Imagine being a higher ed PR department and instead of just paying for AI marketing slop, you hire a third party to make AI marketing slop for you.

You’re imagining all universities right now.

The most perplexing thing about the higher ed-AI slop craze is that universities are supposedly beacons of critical thinking — it takes barely any critical thinking to identify AI slop. Everyone immediately sees it.

The hubris and arrogance of it all is fascinating.

Anti-trans demagogue and fifth place swimmer Riley Gaines earned $470,000+ last year from a conservative non-profit.

Notably, $420k was incentive-based.

A neat little window into the way the transphobic grift is being compensated.

I wonder what the per-post rate is?

I wouldn’t apply for the job due to my strong principles of not applying for jobs and they didn’t even give me the job!

Lmfao “I didn’t get the job because I’m white” says the guy who didn’t submit a complete application

Can’t make this stuff up
Another incredible case of white racial grievance about the academic job market.

He reveals at the end that he wouldn’t provide the necessary application materials!

It is amazing for some people to learn part of actual jobs in the world is behaving in ways amenable to other people in the world they have to work with, and that their ability to do so is part of what they are evaluated on in the application/interview process.

But, entitlement is a hell of a drug.

bold statement to make of a technology that can’t run without plagiarizing academics’ work.

Academics are professional researchers.

AI is in so many ways the antithesis of research.

But I present AI bros’ take on AI and academics.
I would struggle to trust an academic who doesn‘t know how to
use AI tools.
Which is not the same as not being critical.

Coming back to this, I'm still struck by the implication that academics should care if the AI pushers "trust" all our work that's done without AI.

I don't know, man, you all seemed to trust our work enough to steal it from us wholesale.
