The case for debating the other side
I had my reservations ahead of a debate about trans inclusion in women’s sports last week, but the outcome reminded me that there is merit (and catharsis) in dialogue and debating the other side.

I am no constitutional scholar, but I can't help but feel that "the President gets to dictate what every university can teach and what every television station should broadcast" is closer to what the founding fathers were worried about when it comes to free speech than trigger warnings on syllabi.

A very scary bill just passed in Ohio for transgender folks. No one but local LGBTQ+ orgs are talking about it.

First, Ohio is only recognizing sex assigned at birth, male or female. You can get in trouble for stating otherwise on documents, I imagine. I may need to change my state ID back. 1/5

What was stunning to me was the level of coordination among right-wing groups as they began their full-on assault on trans athletes. Political, legal, business and media groups worked hand in hand to frame a hateful yet powerful message. One analyst likened it to the coordinated assault on Roe.
