This was always where it was going to go: when the President claims it can detain and remove anyone without judicial review or due process, they will try to deport and remove people without judicial review and due process.

Straight up authoritarian dictator stuff.

DOJ Designates Posting Photos Of Balding Elon Musk As Domestic Terrorism
WASHINGTON—Warning that the charge carried a five-year mandatory minimum sentence, the U.S. Department of Justice declared Friday that the distribution of images featuring a balding Elon Musk constituted an act of domestic terrorism. “For the benefit of all Americans, anyone who posts or reposts photos from Mr. Musk’s PayPal days will be prosecuted for terrorism,” […]

Apparently the El Salvadoran government, which operates a slave camp, actually has more integrity than the U.S. Justice Dept. under the Musk/Trump Administration.

"We'll enslave & torture possibly innocent *men,* but not the women!"
ACLU attorney Gelernt says there were people who were returned from El Salvador after the flights because they either weren't Venezuelan or were women and the El Salvadoran government declined to take them.

This isn’t legal, Elon.

Musk steps up calls to impeach judges, offering $100 to voters who join in. America PAC is paying registered Wisconsin voters to sign its petition against “activist judges.” Talk about paid protesters. Now, judges are receiving violent threats online.

The way I see it, Paul Weiss opened the floodgates.

Explain to me how you didn’t betray the legal profession. I read your letter. I read the Times. I’m not buying it.
UPDATE: I obtained a copy of the firm-wide email and attachment that Brad Karp, the chairman of Paul Weiss, sent to employees on Thursday evening.

The documents detail the agreement Karp reached with the White House before Trump rescinded his executive order targeting the firm.

Omg this is insane. I'm immunocompromised and mask *everywhere* esp cuz I live in TX where so many people don't care anymore. Really don't wanna have to deal with this bullshit when we move to NY later this year.
If you want to help disabled people fight New York's proposed mask ban... wear a mask.

If more people would mask up in solidarity, these important accessibility tools would be harder to ban.

Help us normalize masking and protect your health in the process!

We're in late-stage authoritarian consolidation, not early-stage, because the political and civil resistance is minimal.

Outlawing lawyers and universities and disappearing people to gulags means we're far along.
