The state of Florida prevented cities from lighting up their bridges in rainbow colors for Pride month. So people did it themselves anyway.
Florida won't light bridges in rainbow colors. So Jacksonville's LGBTQ community did.
After the state said its bridges will be lit red, white and blue all summer, LGBTQ supporters used rainbow-colored flashlights on Main Street bridge.

I cannot disagree. I also think the Dems would see a huge turnout if they ran on this, hard. The Republicans are coming for your birth control. Boom.

With mass bleaching events so frequent, the prognosis is bad. Australia must lead with its actions on emissions and phasing out fossil fuel development

I don’t think it can be emphasized enough that large language models were never intended to do math or know facts; literally all they do is attempt to sound like the text they’re given, which may or may not include math or facts. They don’t do logic or fact checking — they’re just not built for that

Every time. UBI works.
AI doesn’t.
But which one is getting billions in hot dumb money thrown at it.
Fresh results from another basic income pilot. This one took place in San Antonio, Texas where 1,000 people got a $1,908 payment in Dec 2020, followed by 8 quarterly $400 payments between Apr 2021 and Jan 2023.

What happened?

Incomes from work went up.

That's a commonly observed impact BTW.
San Antonio experimented with giving people $5,108 no-strings-attached. They spent it on housing and school supplies for their kids.

If every American home with gas, oil or inefficient electric-resistance heating were to swap it right now for heat-pump heating, the emissions of the entire U.S. economy would shrink by 5% to 9%. bit.ly/43gMNrN
Yes, heat pumps slash emissions even if powered by a dirty grid
Installing a heat pump now is better for the climate, even if you run it on U.S. electricity generated mostly by fossil fuels. Here's why.

Abortion bans are not only a violation of the 14th Amendment, but the 1st Amendment as well. You cannot enshrine one specific religious perspective into law and impose it upon an entire diverse nation of people.

THIS.

"Boycotting" an election doesn't send the message that you're unhappy, because it doesn't lose them money like it would for a business. You're not the nation's customer.

Refusing to vote sends the message that you're fine with whatever result you get, that other people can decide for you.
And unfortunately some well-meaning people fall for it, thinking not voting would work the same way as boycotting a business.
