As @people.com reported yesterday, more than 30,000 children in just one North Carolina district alone skipped class on Monday due to immigration raids: people.com/more-than-30...

Every single person in Little Village fighting ICE/BP this week, each one of those people had more courage than the entire party leadership put together. Every single person in the street resisting in LA, Portland, Chicago, they're ALL showing more backbone than useless top tiers of Dem apparatus
I keep seeing regular Americans taking more risks every day to fight tyranny, want, and cynicism than I see from the opposition party, and I imagine many of those regular Americans are asking themselves what the value proposition of such an opposition party is, really

LESS. THAN. A. WEEK.

Took them less than a week to take one of the most visible public repudiations of the GOP in my lifetime and turn it into hog slop.

I’m so mad my temperature is higher than my ACA premiums.

democratic voters wanted their party to shut down the government for myriad reasons — troops in american cities, masked thugs ripping families apart — but dem leaders insisted the wise thing to do politically was to stay hyper-fxated on this one thing, ACA tax credits. and then they just… gave up

even when the democratic party has leverage and one of the craziest election swings the party intentionally self immolates it’s just so exhausting what is even the point of these people

Asking the Supreme Court to sign off on letting you starve scores of millions of Americans is an extremely wild and cruel policy choice.
BREAKING: DOJ goes to SCOTUS trying to stop a district court order that USDA pay out full SNAP benefits this month.

The First Circuit denied an administrative stay, but has not yet ruled on the stay request. And, CNN reported that USDA is already processing payments.

DOJ went to SCOTUS anyway.

This is insane and also I hope that seeing a US fucking senator thrown to the ground and cuffed for asking a question will help some of the people who still aren’t getting it to recognize that THE POLICE ARE THE SOURCE OF THE VIOLENCE

A Louisiana immigration judge ruled Friday that recent Columbia graduate and Palestine activist Mahmoud Khalil can be deported—even though Khalil has a green card, is a lawful permanent resident, and has not been charged with any crimes.

This is the logical conclusion of 18 months of attacks on anti-genocide protestors as “terrorists” and “terrorist sympathizers” simply because they opposed mass murder

This has been a bipartisan effort

Everyone--from Democrats to University admin--who helped perpetuate the lie that critique or protest of Israel was inherently antisemitic or constituted harassment of Jewish students, you handed the University to the Right on a golden platter.

The idea that there should be a public debate about the appropriate medical care for a minuscule population of children remains one of the most absurd lies that these liberal transphobes, NYT edit board included, tell themselves. No there shouldn’t! It’s not an appropriate matter for public debate!

it’s my strong belief that repetition and continuity are essential right now. members of congress not let into USAID today? go back tomorrow. keep going back and asking “what are you hiding?” until you get an answer. one press conference isn’t going to impress upon people how important this is.

When you comply you increase your tolerance for compliance and help normalize violations of important norms

That’s how even a little compliance helps usher in fascism

A little compliance in 1933 set the stage for the Holocaust.

Remember that

No one's blaming Democrats for causing this crisis, but yes, many of them are failing to meet this moment.

One Democratic senator could bring the chamber to a halt. House Dems can go to fed agencies being gutted by Musk with cameras in tow. Governors can push back. State AGs can bring lawsuits.
