In his first formal address to Roman Catholic cardinals, Pope Leo XIV on Saturday said he would continue the work of Pope Francis in steering the church in a more missionary direction, with greater cooperation among church leaders and caring for the marginalized.

The new pope said he would be guided by a key document that his predecessor wrote listing the church’s priorities, including a “loving care for the least and the rejected.”

I am only 35 minutes into watching this but the things he has been saying for the last five minutes are such a stinging rebuke to the entire USCCB that I am now even more certain that schism that's been brewing for a while will happen in the next decade
if you're interested in getting a sense of the new Pope's background, personality, etc, here's a sit-down Q&A he did about 9 months ago #PopeLeoXIV

Pope Leo's first sermon and, uh, his using the phrase "be ever more fully a city set upon a hill" and cf'ing it to Rev 21:10 instead of any of the others before saying "many baptized Christians" are "living in a state of practical atheism" is. Well. Shots fired!

Read Pope Leo XIV's first homily as pope
During his homily, delivered in Italian, Leo XIV said that Christians must serve a world that is often hostile to their beliefs.

The first ballot details have leaked :D
WSJ's reporting agrees with what I'd heard: the Latin American cardinals had coalesced around Prevost even before the conclave, and provided the base of his support, which then attracted those opposed to Italian Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

I would once again like to point out, if you are really truly afraid of fascist infiltration then you have to plan your exit in a way that guarantees fascism won’t be allowed to take hold. The pope stacked his conclave with the people he wanted to move power after his death. Joe Biden did not.

Cuomo is the hail-mary chance for the coalition of the corrupt and conservatives to steal one of the most powerful offices in America from a mostly-liberal city, and it relies on clueless liberals voting for Cuomo because the media lies to them about who he is and what he's done.
"The political action committee backing Andrew Cuomo’s bid for mayor... has collected at least $410,000 from real estate executives + companies currently being sued by the city... over their alleged failure to correct dangerous conditions in apartment buildings they own or manage."
Real estate execs gave $400K to Cuomo’s PAC. NYC is suing them for building disrepair.
The city has sued the donors over conditions in at least 20 of their buildings over the past year.
