I wonder what might have happened if, during the campaign, both Dems and the news media made a bigger deal out of the fact that Trump was a convicted felon who would likely continue committing crimes if elected president
The Trump administration is a criminal enterprise.
This pay for pardon list is extraordinary.

Trump is doing awful things in cities and a growing mass of Americans are objecting, so we asked the only people who matter, middle aged white Trump supporters who don't live there and feel no personal impact from it whatsoever. And you're not going to believe this, but they say they support Trump.

I think the disconnect between Atlantic elites is that Americans think Donald Trump is a kid getting to drive a monster truck for Make A Wish and Europeans and Canadians think Donald Trump is the president of the United States.

The bleeding was so internal, so out of view, they just forgot about it until a week later.
Strange that nobody in the administration brought up this internal bleeding last week

Run a “60 Minutes” segment about the harsh conditions of immigrant detention centers? Bari Weiss says no, not solid enough ground here.

Run a story that simply repeats a statement made by DHS Secretary Noem without confirming that the guy actually went to the hospital? She says, good to go
BREAKING: The ICE agent who fatally shot Renee Good last week in Minneapolis, Jonathan Ross, suffered internal bleeding to the torso following the incident, according to two U.S. officials briefed on his medical condition.
ICE agent who shot Renee Good suffered internal bleeding, officials say
Jonathan Ross, who shot Renee Good in Minneapolis last week, suffered internal bleeding after the incident, two officials said, though it's not clear how extensive the bleeding was.

If you saw this on a newsstand as you were walking by it, and you had a child’s understanding of anything currently happening in this country, you’d see this and think your president was the most popular person on the planet and succeeding at every turn

I feel like this should now be fully understood, the same way we say things like, “the groundhog knows when winter will end” or “beer before liquor? never sicker”

Purging the performative “I’m a serious legislator” politicians from the party is top priority for this year’s primary elections.

This is not a serious response or a serious solution.

I don't think you can truly grapple with where we are, and how we come back from it, without recognizing this is not a constitutionally legitimate government and he is not the lawful president of the United States.

PRESSLEY: We just agreed that fraud is unacceptable. So do you oppose the pardon of George Santos?

ROBBINS: I would have to look at the law and the facts of the case

PRESSLEY: Don't deflect. This is not a complicated question.

Just say he doesn’t care about lowering costs. What would even be the end result of him seeing this post and being spurred to action because of it? He focuses on lowering costs and claims a political victory from it? Why are almost all Democratic senators so completely useless
The White House is laser focused on threatening a military takeover of Greenland.

Where’s the same focus on lowering costs?

Hard to see anything in this country fundamentally changing until we find a way to get Fox News off the air. Retroactively trying to pull the Capitol police officer who shot Ashli Babbitt into this also manufactured daycare scandal is bonkers, but they get away with everything so why not
BARTIROMO: Are you investigating what they did on January 6? There's a report that Michael Byrd, the officer who shot Ashli Babbitt dead, he allegedly was operating an unaccredited home daycare.

COMER: We all have questions about January 6

This specific point is enough to drive you insane. Rubio was on TV all morning yesterday talking about how important an indictment is and not a single interviewer brought up how Trump is also a convicted felon, and the J6 special prosecutor said under oath they had evidence to convict him at trial
And so egregious, I have yet to see anyone question why indictment justifies the capture of a foreign president while our president is a convicted felon who has never served a day for his crimes. We somehow feel that distasteful or irrelevant and this is the problem right here. Is this objective??

Classic Nobel Peace Prize behavior
WH sources say Venezuela's opposition leader committed the "ultimate sin": She accepted the Nobel Peace prize.

“If she had turned it down and said, ‘I can’t accept it because it’s Donald Trump’s,’ she’d be the president of Venezuela today,” one said.

This kid should be everywhere. Probably doesn’t want to repeatedly relive this experience but he should be on every news show, every morning show. This is a direct action resulting from the president’s public racist rant against Somali Americans. The “peace president” gtfo
MINNEAPOLIS: “All I did was step outside as a Somali American citizen, and I got chased by a masked person, assaulted, kidnapped. It was inhumane. If this is what’s happening to a 🇺🇸 citizen on camera, imagine what could happen to your loved ones.”

I think a lot of people interact with politics the way some people interact with pop culture. For ex, I had no idea there were three seasons of “The Lincoln Lawyer”

Was thinking about this watching the new Stranger Things episodes — the episode lengths are all over the place. Some eps are 55 minutes, others over an hour. Eps can feel meandering as a result. LOST clocked in at 42 minutes every week. The eps had a structure and specific beats to hit along the way
Also I am having nostalgia for well-crafted commercial break structure.

They needed Matthew Fox to be the linch pin but the whole cast is so good and fresh and believable.

Ahhh yes. Clinging to the shattered remains of their boat out in the middle of the ocean, their mission would be undeterred: we must deliver the drugs that… are… somewhere here… amongst the wreckage. Surely the drugs are fine
