We will get through this. Don't roll over. Don't give in.

Hey, America.

I know it seems bleak and overwhelming.

Please don't give up.

I refuse to let bad people destroy our country on purpose - while they spend all of their time lying about it and blaming it on the innocent and weak amongst us.

Cruelty isn't strength or alpha. It's just evil. 1/2

Wonder what the “Twitter Files” free speech absolutists that accused the Biden Administration of “censoring” disinfo on Twitter think of the FCC chair getting Kimmel fired.

A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.

The thing with designating a group that doesn't actually exist as a terrorist organization is that they can then say anyone they want is a part of that group.

This is the playbook, folks.

If you're not paying attention now and doing something about it, then you're going to have to sit down the rest of your life because democracy is being taken away.

Do not be quiet in this moment.

I hadn’t seen this. Kirk, the moderate free speech guy who did politics the right way per some liberals (!), called for Biden to be executed.

Meanwhile Joe Biden put out a very strong statement condemning Kirk’s killing.

Both sides!

Who will be the 218 signatory?

This is about trust in our government to serve us. 90% feel we have a rigged system, protecting the powerful, & politicians cannot be trusted. We must prove that the powerful will be held to account. That we can wage this battle across party lines.

US Senate Republicans blocked an amendment introduced by Democrat Majority Leader Chuck Schumer that would have released the Epstein files.

Only 2 Republican senators, Rand Paul and Josh Hawley, broke ranks and joined Democrats in supporting the measure. #OpDeathEaters

I don't get how people don't realize that a technology that replaces junior and entry level positions in a field destroys that field.

There's no skipping steps. You have to be a junior before you can be a senior, and if you don't have senior people, you don't have a field.
Remember, kids: A real big goal of "AI" is to entirely sever capital from labor, and no, there will be no universal basic income, you can all just starve and die, thanks

This is important. The first 24 hours of press coverage fumbled the ball. But the US just murdered 11 people in international waters. Analogies to the US’s (highly suspect, morally and legally) targeted killings of suspect terrorists don’t work. This crossed their own lines, and they know it.
1/ I worked at DoD. I literally cannot imagine lawyers coming up with a legal basis for lethal strike of suspected Venezuelan drug boat.

Hard to see how this would not be "murder" or war crime under international law that DoD considers applicable.

I’ve studied US drone strikes, I wrote a book called “Drones and Terrorism,” and this Caribbean strike is different.

Lethal fire at a non-threatening target in a non-hostile environment on purpose when other means, such as capture, were easily doable, and without even attempting a legal rationale.

IRS has been requiring IDme checks for FOIA requests, which may* be an appropriate check for a privacy request to disclose your personal data, but is an inappropriate check for a public record.

Here, DHS has made similar requests for public records.

This pattern is very concerning!
There are 3,300 fewer newspapers across the U.S. and 45,000 fewer journalists than there were in 2005, which means more secrecy across the country, according to a new study from @brechnerfoi.bsky.social.

"The cost of renaming the DOD will run into tens of millions of dollars, maybe much more. Isn’t this an administration that only months ago unleashed an ignorant bazillionaire on the federal workforce in the name of efficiency and cost reductions?"
It is impossible to overstate the inanity of the vapid and stupid stunt of renaming the Defense Department, and Congress should step in and put a stop to it immediately.
